How do I lift the bottom (where you actually sit) part of the seat up? Jaguar X Type 2005 3.0

not familiar with jaguar but most cars it is accessible under the back seat

not easy has it has anti syphon if you remove the rear seat cushion by releasing 4 little levers 2 each side under edge of seat there are access points under black plastic gromments i dont no why you are removing fuel but to get it all out you will have to access both sides because it is a saddle tank

most back seat cushions just push in and pull them up. there on clips. Push bottom cushion towards back of car, lift up. good-day !!

You can take out the back seat, there is suppose to be a opening are an empty space try from there.

PUSH IN CENTER FRONT EDGE CUSHION TO DISENGAGE PART OF SEATS WIRE FRAME FROM CLIPS.WITH CLIPS UNHOOKED LIFT UP AND REMOVE SEAT.IF REAR SEAT NOT HELD IN PLACE WITH CLIPS. LIFT UP THE REAR SEAT CUSHION AND PIVOT IT FORWARD. DETACH THE RETAINING BOLTS AT THE LOWER EDGE OF THE SEAT BACK AND IF NECESSARY REMOVE THE SEAT BELT ANCHOR BOLTS.LIFT UP ON SEAT BACK REMOVE IT..

If pushing the button will not open the trunk (boot), you will need to remove the rear seats to access the trunk compartment. Pull the bottom seat off by simply prying it. The fold down back rests are locked from the trunk on top so you will have to unscrew the retaining bolts from the bottom of the back rest to flip the seats up. Once inside, you will find a yellow pull handle that manually opens the trunk where the striker is. Pull it and try to have the replacement peice ready so you don't have to go thru that again.

The fuel pump is located under the back seat cushion. There is a release tab on both sides of the lower cushion by where your knees go when your sitting in the seat to pull up the lower back cushion. Once removed you will see under some insulation a white plastic ring that you turn counterclock wise to access the fuel and jet pumps, as well as the fuel sending units.

To fold the rear seats down on an s type jaguar, pop the boot (trunk to you yanks) look just below the rear window inside and on left and right you will see two pull handles, tug on these and hey presto the seats are released from catches. Open either rear door and fold down seats. Sit back and have a beer. Cheers.

The starter is above your feet when you are sitting in the driver seat. It is very diffficult to get at as the bolts are difficult to get at. You can only barely see it if you look down at an angle between the wiper motor and braking parts. You have to get at from top and from bottom. An hour even if you have the perfect tools and a lift.
