Escort diesel fuel pump problem , new one has 3 wires instead of 1 wire

looking at the engine from front of van uplift pump is above gearbox undo all 4 injector pipes.then u will see small black button on top of up lift pump keep pushing it put old can lid under each pipe untill fuel flows out of each pipe make sure u bridge pump wires or leve ing on

its the alarm spyder imoboliser behind the dash its cuts the fuel cut off on the injection pump stopping the engine they fail due to worn solder on the chip board to by pass it take a a piece of wire with a spade conecter to you fuel cut off solenoid on the injection pump take off old wire tape it up slide the new wire on feed the other end into the bulk head inside the car to the front of the fuse box there is a four pin plug from your ignition live snip the yellow wire ad your new wire with a block connecter to the yellow wire presto no more cut outs i would recomend this way as i had the same problem and wanted to make sure it would not cut the engine again it is dangerous if your exiting a junction kind regards chris.

You'll need the engine computer harness from the 2.0 and you'll have to remove the 1.8 harness and replace it with the 2.0 harness. Both fuel systems are return style so nothing has to be done with the pump. You might have to make new fuel lines at the rail, though.

There is a short circuit among the starter wire,you need to check it or do change the starter motor wire.

YOU HAVE THE WRONG ALTERNATOR.ANY TIME YOU BUY ANOTHER ALTERNATOR IT SHOULD BE THE SAME WIRING HOOK UP.TAKE OLD ALTERNATOR PARTS PLACE SO THEY CAN MATCH THEM.THEY PROBABLY GIVE YOU ALTERNATOR FOR GAS ENGINE BY MISTAKE.

You are on the right track. 99% sure it is a fuel supply problem. I suspect the lift pump is a likly candiddate or an obstruction inside of the fuel tank. Chack also on the vacuum side of the pump for any loose hoses that could result in an air leak so the lift pump will draw air instsead of fuel

check the accelarator cable isnt stretched (rev the car from the peddle, then from under the hood and listen for any rev differences) although its just been serviced also check that its had a replacement air filter. this could be restricting air.

try changing fuel fillter it could be blocked

more than likely i would say upgrade your diesel pump to the eight wire configuration you really want to use what is mandated for the vehicle or you can or will have trouble in the future
