Usually there is a dipstick for the tranny fluid. if you can find that you add the fluid through there with a funnel. other wise you will have to look on top of the tranny for a check plug.

There is a bolt on top of a lower section of the transmission (location right front of transmission when sitting in car) it is similar in size to the drain plug bolt. you fill through this and let the excess drain, then install the bolt.(this type of transmission does not normaly have a dipstick).

Adding transmission fluid

Found this on wiki answers

There is no dipstick on the Malibu transmission. To correctly check fluid level, you must locate the filler cap and the drain plug on the transmission. The filler cap is a red cap located on the drivers side of the transmission between the air filter box and exhaust crossover pipe, almost under the crossover pipe. The drain plug is located on the passengers side of the transmission, just behind where the axle connects to the transmission. It has an 11mm head and can be seen if you lay in front of the passengers front tire, look about 3 inches above the transmission pan. Once you have located these, warm the transmission to normal operating temperature, and with the car running, transmission in park, and the car sitting level, slowley remove the drain plug, have a drain pan under the plug in case any fluid comes out. There should be very little fluid coming out, if there is none coming out re-install the plug, remove the filler cap and put 1/2 quart of fluid in, now run the transmission thru all the gears and back to park. Put the drain pan under the plug and remove the plug, if it is overfull, let it drain until it stops, if it still doesn't have fluid coming out, add 1/2 quart at a time until it does, following the above procedure. Make sure you let any excess fluid drain out and re-install the plug. As noted above, make sure the car is running while checking the fluid. I know it seems complicated but it isn't as bad as it sounds. This same procedure applies to all Chevy Malibus from about 1997 until 2004 if I'm not mistaken.

How to add transmission fluid to 1992 325i BMW? I once read about this car having 2 pans. Can not find where the article is now. There is a ATF cap to the drivers side but it is a very short stick. One guy...

Why do you want to add it? Wipe the dipstick on clean white paper towel or cloth. If there are no leaks and the colour is still fairly bright it should be ok. If there are no leaks and the transmission is slipping it needs to go to a dealer or tranny shop.

How can I add (top-up) transmission fluid into my 2005 isuzu ascender?

Most of these don't have a tranny filler tube. You have to go from underneath the tranny. You should then see two plugs with a square in it that fits 1/2" ratchet.
The top or upper plug is the fill hole. The fluid level in the tranny needs to be up as high as the bottom of that hole. You should be able to stick your finger in the filler hole and fill the fluid right at the hole.

How do you add transmission fluid to a 2000 town country

The tranny fluid is added through the tranny dipstick (make sure it's not the oil dipstick). Fluid color should be red and the dipstick should have instructions on how to check level (car in park, engine at idle). Funnels are your friend here.

Where is the location for the transmission fluid on a 2000 oldsmobile alero

In the transmission pan underneath tranny. You should have a red dipstick on passenger side to check. Not all models have a dipstick, some you have to go under car, find the upper filler bolt on tranny, remove the bolt, stick your finger in there to check tranny fluid levels and add from there. You can go to autozone.com and register for full free online repair manual for your car.

Where is the transmission stick for the 98 catera?

There isnt one. It only has a filler hole on the tranny itself. It is a sealed unit. Your Cadillac, like many newer vehicles, does not have one.
Instead, there is a fluid levelinspection port, that in your case, is in the oil pan of the transmission. To correctly check the fluid level requires the engine to be running with the transmission at operating temperature, about a 15 mile drive. In addition, the vehicle has to be level.
You can jack the vehicle up evenly on both ends, but a lift is the preferred way. The fluid should be even with the bottom of the threaded opening the transmission pan when the plug is removed.
A quart of tranny fluid with a screw on nozzle will help you add fluid as needed until it slightly flows back out of the threaded plug hole.
Recheck the plug for any leaking of tranny fluid once you have completed adding fluid and reinstalled the inspection plug.

How do i add transmission fluid to my 1996 camry?

If you have a dipstick under your hood for the tranny fluid, then fill it in there slowly... if not, you'll need to fill it through the filler plug that will be on the side of the transmission just above the halfway point

How do I drain transmission fluid (2000 sable ls(dohc))?

On an automatic tranny, the tranny oil pan is removed to drain the tranny fluid - a somewhat messy job. Typically when this done the tranny filler is replaced. A new pan gasket is installed in this procedure.
On the manual tranny, there is a drain plug at the bottom side of the tranny to drain the oil.
I have used a home made setup using a suction pump with small diameter tubing to **** the fluid out from the tranny filler tube. This is when I was replacing the filter and I dropped the pan. I did the suction routine to avoid all that fluid dripping out when you loosen the pan.
Have you located the leak? Is it from the tranny oil pan or maybe from a tranny cooler line?

Where the plug for tranny on 96' jetta is located?

On the manual transmission you go through the vehicle speed sensor (VSS). Its suppose to go 1/2 way up the teeth marks. Does it not say in the Chiltons manual? I can check when I get home.
