In the same hole the dipstick for the transmission is in. Small funnel works the best to minimize spillage. Also make sure you check the level of the transmission while the vehicle is in park and running and engine hot. Avoid over filling by adding small amounts at a time and re checking.

Transmission fluid is added where the dipstick (transmission fluid check) comes out. Remove the dipstick, add fluid, replace dipstick. Do not overfill.

SOURCE: How do I put fluid in automatic transmission?

if there is no dipstick on a transmission there is NO need to add fluid. This is called a sealed transmission some BMW have this type of tranny the oil is changed at service intervals that vary from different companies/make and model the average is 24,000-60,00 interval. the oil needs to be measured and pumped into transmission from the bottom of vehicle. I hope i answered your question. thanks for using FIX YA.

I have a 1992 BMW 525 I manual transmission what kind of fluid do I put in the ATF oil only reservoir?

You should be able to use most Automatic Transmission Fluids (ATF), although if you have a manual shift car, then there is no ATF.
Check the fluid level careful if you do have an ATF container, since it is very rare that you would lose fluid from the transmission.

I accidently put automatic trans fluid in my power steering reserviour

Transmission fluid and power steering fluid are the one in the same. They are both hydraulic fluid. Only the red dye. Your vehicle will operate fine on transmission fluid in the power steering pump. Just don;t put power steering fluid in your transmission

Im a single mom and dont have a owners manual for my voyager, that was given to me. i want to make sure im putting the right fluids in. can you help? it doesnt tell me on the dipsticks like some...

Engine oil for cold climates 5w-30. Warmer climates 10w-30. Any Auto-zone parts store person at the counter would be more than helpful choosing the correct fluids for your vehicle.

How do you put transmission fluid in transmission

If you have a manual transmission you generally don't need to unless you have a leak. If you have an automatic transmission then the filler cap is usually near the transmission pump. Make sure you use the proper automatic transmission fluid stated in your user manual.

How can i put transmission fluid into my car,how much do i put in

Check the Level of the transmission fluid by pulling the Transmission dip stick. The colour of the dip stick is most likely red in colour and you need to check it with the car's engine running and hot. Pull the dip stick out clean it off and check it again. always check the second reading.
To fill the transmission, you need to fill it through the Transmission dip stick tube. Yes your going to need a thin funnel and good luck. Do not over fill the transmission. over filling will cause damage to the transmission.
Best thing is, if you have not done a transmission oil and filter change. Have it done at a Transmission shop and you'll know that the transmission level is fine and have them show you have to check and fill the Transmission. As time goes by and mileage get's high, the fluid will get contaminated and the filter plugged up which would in turn cause a transmission failure.
Good luck and hope this helps. Oh and the type of transmission fluid should be in your manuel or stamped on the dip stick.

Termactor fuse blowing

Is this a manual, or automatic? Manual, you may need to replace a driveaxle(or both). If automatic, check fluid, and linkage. If fluid is low, or empty, fix leaks, and fill with fluid. Have a diagnostics done on car for transmission codes. If manual, and driveaxles checkout to be okay, check any sensors on transmission. Check sensors on automatic as well; and fluid. (manaul transmission fluid is check by oil dipstick; oil lubes engine and tranny.

How do you put in transmission fluid?

Unfortunately, you have a closed system transmission, there is no dipstick or filler tube. I have a 96 passport and to have fluid replaced in the transmission you need to take it to a garage that is equipped to fill closed transmissions. This generally runs about $100.00 at the dealership. I was on my way to get my transmission serviced when the trans broke. Don't wait long if you're having issues.
