My tracker wont start up

After i have turned the car off and back on 3 times on the 3rd time it turns over but wont start, sounds like im out of gas, it sputters and acts like it wants to start. i let if sit for 7-8mins and then it starts up and runs fine. have changed both o2 sensors, crank shaft sensor, fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs. it runs longer now before doing the same thing still. whats wrong.

Same deal, I open the hood when I stop for a few minutes and it will start normally. If i fail to put it up the Tracker will not start untill I open it and wait about five minutes. Im guessing it has to do with the coil packs and the temp rising when you turn off the engine with the hood down.

Mine does the same thing... but if I let the battery run for a little while, maybe 5 minutes or so, it usually starts up normal. This normally only happens in the winter on cold days.

when you turn the key and it will not start is the check engine light on?

Also when you turn the key and is does start is the check engine light on?

A proper start sequence should have the check engine light on untill the vehicel startes then go out.

I have a similar problem with mine I was just wondering if you noticed the state of the check engine light?

2001 Tracker had no signs of problem. Won't start after sitting one day when made a trip from Alabama to NC. Had put in fuel additive for the trip. Turns over, wants to start but will not...smells like it is flooding but I can hear the fuel pump when I turn the key on...

93 geo tracker will turn over but wont start unless you pour gas in intake then will continue to run until you kill it. will not start back unless you pour more gas in intake.

Sounds like something is letting the fuel pressure bleed off after the motor is turned off. Can you monitor the pressure? (Requires adapters and gauge.) Trouble shooting will be a little different between the 8 valve or 16 valve motors. (The fuel injecton systems are different.) You might want to go to a Suzuki Forum. (Your Tracker is a rebadged Suzuki.)

Tracker wont always start. if you listen for fuel pump to pump and quit it will start, but this is after keying it off and on several times and removing key completely from ignition and putting back in.

sounds like most of you have fuel pump problems disconnect the fuel line and check to see if any fuel comes through the line when turning it over, no fuel pump problem, or change fuel filter

Problem starting after engine is warm.

You may have leaky injectors. I would try some injector cleaner first. If that didn't work, I would pull up the fuel rail to confirm they are leaking when the pump is on. Then have them cleaned or replaced.
