Half-warm engine start problems. My Saab 9-3, 2,0, 2000 mod. bought in april 2010 has now been running totally 230 000 km. Lately repaced distributor cover, rotor, spark plugs so far. Still the engine will not start after cooled down for about 15 - 30 minutes. With the starter running at least about 30 seconds, the engine starts and running well with no problems at any rmp. The same problems occurs on sunny days with a cold engine, but never with hot engine (until about 10 minutes).

I would suggest a compression test as an engine with those miles on it will be close to being badly worn
If thee is a chain problem it will not be running

check engine light?? i'd say check the O2 sensors...

the idle air control valve may be bad or just needs cleaned out. idle air control valve acts the same as a choke. if it is messing up it will cause engine not to run right.

Most likely air flow metre. Had same problem analysed and replaced and runs perfectly. Not cheap!

it is definately the main relay. if you replace the relay then you will fix the problem. Over time the circuit board cracks and causes it to go bad.

Sounds like a crank sensor. They can drive you mad. If you hear a clicking sound when you try to start it, that is the battery. But if you turn the key it starts, you drive some place turn off the car for 5 minutes and then try to restart it, and it does nothing at all, that is a classic crank sensor.

Check fuel feed is ok and fuel pump pressure also check cold start injector could be running on this til warm.
