SOURCE: transmission, and speedometer, check engine light problem
I found the information,as I searched a little further on the Internet,it turns out to be a fairly common problem which is, the speed sensors with the outlet being the most common one to fail but the inlet can also, a relatively cheap fix.
SOURCE: Speedometer/odometer not working, can I get troubleshooting info?
you mean all lights work but speed needle don't move, its a cable problem, maybe broken or come loose from speedo. remove 3 hex screws from chrome trim on gas tank and see if it has come unscrewed, if not undo it and spin front wheel and see if the end of cable turns, it should unless its broken.
SOURCE: my transmission wont shift, the speedometer quit
Most likely your speed sensors are bad, this causes the transmission to seem like its "stuck" in second gear or in "limp" mode. I can also be your TCM (transmission control module). But from your description, it's most likely the speed sensors located on the top of the transmission. Make sure you replace them with an exact replacement are they are not interchangeable.
Hope this helps.
