It sounds like your Fuel Level Sending Unit, usually located with the Fuel Pump inside the gas tank, has gone out. The Fuel Level Sending Unit sends the signal to your ECU, and then it goes to the Fuel Level gauge. Replace the Fuel Level Sending Unit and your gauge should be back to normal.

The fuel sensor is usually built into the fuel pump, and is often accessed by taking out the rear seat.

2002 Bonneville My gas gauge wasn't working right

it may be that you didn't run out of fuel but the fuel pump quit-check the fuse-you more than likely need a new fuel pump-the fuel pump and the fuel level sensor are one unit in the fuel tank-cheers Denny

I just bought a 98' Tahoe and the gas/fuel gauge does not work. Checked the fuses and tried a new one for the gauges fuse and the gauge worked but then went back to empty. When I removed the fuse the...

The computer does a sweep test everytime it senses power. Check it next time you turn the key to run the gages do a little self test. However the fuse and gage won't be your problem. They are very bad for the fuel level sensor in the tank getting corrupted or dirty and doesn't read properly. You can try to add port fuel injector cleaner to the tank, but problem will usually reoccur. You will need the fuel tank dropped and the level sensor replaced.

1982 F150 where are the fuse. Gas gauge not working just quit.

The fuse box is located up under the dash on the drivers side. The power regulator that controls the gas gauge is located on the back of the instrument panel mounted to the flexable circuit board. There isnt really a single fuse that controls the gas gauge. My guess(only a guess) is that your gauge is broken.

My automatic door locks and gas gauge have quit working

for the gas gague,, check a fuse,, more than likely the float or sensor in the tank has gone bad, for the door locks,, its a combined system,,, along side of the fuse box check the relay to make sure its not "fused " together and the points in it are working freely

1990 toyota camry gas gauge quit working

Either fuel sensor is bad or coated with sulfur residue from inferior gas. Try a can of Sea Foam gas treatment OR can of Techuron concentrate. Both available at auto parts and , of course, Walmart ! Add to full gas tank, drive 75 - 100 miles and see if all is well. If not, condide4 sensor change
