OUTER HANDLE WONT OPEN. BOUGHT REPACEMENT. I HAVE REMOVED THE DOOR PANEL....CAN'T SEEM TO REACH THE SCREWS. DO I HAVE TO REMOVE THE WINDOW? WHAT TO DO NEXT 1999 BUICK PARK AVE ULTRA .THANX

you have to remove all door trim screws also remove screws hold manual window handle power window you need to remove power window switch screws.pay attention look for all door panel screws that all holding it in place.

Try a slim jim first, down the side of the window. Or AAA or locksmith. If no luck, remove the seat first. Find the screws and bolts around the door handle and arm rest. Most Ford's have screws around the outer side of the panel. I don't believe your's does. The panel lifts or pops off. Once the panel is off, you can reach down and open the door. Just a note. I have done some to where the panel came out in pieces.

the outer handle is connected to the lock with a steel rod. If the outer handle has broken or the clip that holds the rod onto that handle has broken, then thats what you need to replace. You will need to remove the inside door trim to access the locks and rods. Remove the door trim as best you can if you are unable to open the door at all and reach into the door to access the inner door lock rod. Pulling or pushing the rod should allow you to open the door and remove the trim completely.
If there is no obvious damage to the outer door lock, check where the outer door handle rod connects to the lock itself as the clips holding the rods in place can fail. If the clips have failed, replace them with new clips from the vehicle manufacturer..

All there is is just screws around the outer sides of the door panel(3 on bottom). There is one located on the arm rest where the handle is. Then you need to take the screw out where you can lock your door and open your window ect... And just move the panel around until it comes off. You might have to pull the door opener out a little to get it through that hole.

As per the Haynes manual for your vehicle.
DOOR WINDOW GLASS-REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION:
1. Remove the door outer panal.
2. Lower the window glass.
3. remove the two nuts and one screw securing the glass.
4. Remove the glass by lifting it up carefully and rotating it inward.
5. Installation is reversal of removal.

DOOR OUTER PANAL-REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION:
1. Remove door trim panal.
2. Remove the outside mirror. Remove the foam block from the mirror opening.
3. Remove the outside door handle.
4. Open the door and pry thhe outer sealing strip out of the window glass opening.
5. remove the door panal screws.
6. Detach the front and rear of the outer panel, then lift it toward the rear to remove it.
7. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Apply thread locking compound to the panel retaining screws.

OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE-REMOVAL:
1. Pull handle out and puch the centers of the retaining pins through the pins, then remove them and detach handle. (These pins are located underneath the handle.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws (these screws may be covered by filler pieces or may be visible, or they may require you pry a plastic piece off that covers the screws) that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring. Pull back the weather seal and you can then access the linkage that connects the outer door handle to the latch assembly....

1. On vehicles without power windows, place a soft cloth under the window regulator handle and pull upwards on the cloth to release the snapring. Remove the regulator handle and plate.
   

Using a taped prytool, carefully remove the bezel portion of the handle
Remove the bezel by pulling towards the tip of the handle
Remove any screw covers ...
... and extract any retaining screws from the door panel

1. Remove the screw from the inside handle and slide the handle forward. Disconnect and remove the handle from the control link.
   
2. On manual mirrors, remove the setting screw and knob. Tape the end of a thin flat-bladed tool and pry the retainer loose to remove the cover.
   
3. If equipped with power windows, remove the power window switch from the and armrest.
   
4. Remove the mounting screws and remove the armrest from the door panel. Remove the inside door handle bezel by pushing rearward.
   

Carefully pry the edge of the door panel around the outer edges, then remove the door panel
Once the door panel is removed, make sure to disconnect all wiring

1. Remove the door courtesy light by pulling outward. Disconnect the electrical wiring.
   
2. Remove the two screw caps and speaker cover(s). Remove six screws from the trim panel.
   
3. Remove the door pocket from the panel.
   
4. Tape the end of a thin bladed tool, then insert the tool between the door panel and door and pry the panel outward. Disconnect the electrical wiring after the panel is free and remove the panel from the vehicle.
   

To install:

1. Connect the electrical wiring, if equipped, and install the trim panel onto the door.
   
2. Secure the trim panel with the mounting screws, then install screw caps and speaker cover(s).
   
3. Install the door pocket.
   
4. Install the armrest and secure with the mounting screws. Install the power window switch as required.
   
5. Install the door courtesy lamp. Install the inside handle bezel.
   
6. Install the outside rear view mirror cover and retainer.
   
7. Connect the inside handle to the control link. Install the handle, slide it rearward and install the screw.
   
8. With the door window fully closed, install the window regulator and handle.

Pull off the triangle thing.
On the door, at the front edge, there should be 2 plastic caps. Remove them. Under the caps there are screws. Remove them.
On the rear of the door panel, above the latch, are 2 round things, with a smaller round thing in the middle. Press on the inner round thing, and pull the pin assemblys out.
Do you have a light on the door panel at the bottom? If so, pry it out with a small screwdriver (it's just a "press-fit"), and remove the wire connector.
Under the arm-rest, remove the big phillips screw that is hidden, about an inch back from the outer edge of the panel. You will see the hole.
Under the arm rest, remove the tiny plastic trim cover, remove another big phillips screw.
Remove the door handle: Remove the phillips screw. Slide the handle forward or backward to release it from the door metal. Undo the clamp from the lock rod to the handle.
Remove any screws at the very bottom of the panel, if there are any.
Starting at the bottom of the panel. pull straight out, to defeat the plastic clamps tht holds the panel to the door metal. Once the panel is loose, pull it up a bit to remove it from the window opening retainer. Finally, inside the panel, unplug the wiring harness to the window switch assembly.

the inner door lock assembly.unscrew door handle window winder handle and unscrew lock knob.door panel should be held on by plastic push on plugs,pull off from the bottom up ,remove screws, if any. When plugs have been seperated lift panel upwards to clear top of inner door panel.Undo inner door handle and release from lock joiner rod.close to the inner door handle is a plastic rod link should be white rotate outer part until its released.the door lock<key>has a plate holding it to the door remove it and remove the lock from the rod.Remove outr door handle and remove from the rod At the bottom of the door is a bolt holding the window channel,remove the channel by unbolting,pull back window rubber and wiggle steel channel down until it slides out so the inner lock can be accessed.Remove the three large screws holding the outer door lock.it should be able to be removed. place the locks next to each other so you dont mix up the rods when you swap them over.assembly is the reverse order wind the window all the way up before you start.
