I have a 1995 dodge ram 1500 and when i turn the key on it takes a minute for the truck to get fuel pressure. i changed the fuel pump. then i noticed the auto shutdown relay keeps clicking. when its done clicking the truck starts and runs fine till i shut the truck off.

Sounding like a failed auto shutdown relay... as you probably know, it shouldn't take a full minute to get pressure, should be instantaneous.. Best regards Ck

David. Since your a dodge master. But Deffently not an expert reader . he said he can't hear the pump cycle when he turns the key. Im dealing with the same issue but the relay is located on the tipm circuit board. Im looking for the bypass info so i too dont waste money on a fuel pump. But which one is it?
unless you have the key fob also,you need a new ignition switch,with key fob and key with a chip in it,the switch turns on the fuel pump when the chip is recognized,take it to someone that knows what they are doing,you CANNOT hotwire it.
What is liter size of engine? I don't know what relay you unplugged? Your fuel pressure sounds too high? If you have fuel return line, if it gets clogged, it could cause your fuel pressure to rise.
It is your fuel injector pulse width that controls fuel, If pressure is too high, it could cause a problem. Usually voltage to fuel injector, goes hot with engine cranking. The computer controls fuel injector ground.
You indicate the fuel pump was replaced, but did you replace the fuel filter? A clogged filter can restrict fuel flow to the point the engine literally starves for fuel and smothers out.
Also would be a very good idea to check fuel pump pressure at the intake manifold. Also might want to check fuel pressure regulator.
If I'm upstanding you your truck is cranking but not firing up. So try this turn your key on but not all the way to start for 15 seconds do this 3 times then start it. If it start right away You may need a fuel pump. What I have seen is some fuel pumps have check valves that go bad and the pressure bleeds off. Always replace fuel filter at the same time. Do you have any warning lights on after truck is started? Keep in mine it takes a few seconds for lights to go out after engine is running that's okay. If you do have any lights on after running take to a parts store that offers free check of your system. Autozone is one but many will do this now.
I would take a look at the plugs and see if they are fouled. You might have a bad fuel pressure regulator. Also, the control module or pick up coil could be bad.
Your fuel pump is faulty.Ive done 20 of these things.....very common.....super easy to do. less then 3 hours time and do replace the fuel straps and expect to spend around 500 bones for labor and materials
