I have a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 8 cylinder 5.3l truck. I have had issues with it starting, the fuel pump would not function. I had been able to remove the relay and replace and it would start from time to time. Recently it would not start, no matter what I did. I replaced the fuel pump and the fuel pump will not kick on, therefore truck is still not running. Any ideas what I can check next?

Check connections at/or replace oil pressure switch. Your oil pressure switch is also a safety feature that shuts off power to fuel pump in case of accident or rollover.

How do you change a fuel pump on a 2002 GMC sierra, 1500 HD?

Remove the bolts that hold the bed box to the frame, disconnect the rear light wiring harness and the fuel filler pipe. Set up a pair of saw horses or something behind the truck. Then have four guys to lift on all four corners and set the bed on the stand you have ready. The bed is heavy! And there is the fuel pump! Replace with the new and take care to put the wiring harness for the fuel pump back where it was. Replace the bed, bolts and connect the lights. You are ready to go! Takes about two hours if you don't break the welds that hold the nuts for the bed bolts loose. Good luck!

1999 GMC Sierra 1500 go to start the truck will not start keep trying finally it will start.replaced the fuel pump-filter still the same problem somebody it might be a security issue is that possible

Depends on your alarm system things could leed to that and it could also be something more costly like time for an engine overhaul cylinder head gascots burn with time and the cylinders loose compression to be sure have the compression check in the cylinders compare to OE standards tthat way you'll know what your dealing with

Fuel pump- 2002 GMC Sierra

The fuel sending unit only controls the gas guage not the fuel supply to the vehicle. The pump is twelve volts. If you are not getting twelve volts on the PUMP wires check the fuel pump relay and the key circuit to it. If you have to cycle the key three to four times rapidly to get the vehicle to start check the fuel pump pressure at the regulator for manufacturer specs. An injector stuck open will also cause same problems you are describing.
