The gas gauge on my Ford 2006 F350 V10 28,000 miles is giving me false reading on my gas gauge. The low fuel continuously goes on no matter how much gas is in the tank. What could be the problem.?

The Fuel level FLOAT, in the tank is defective. Possible that it "holed", and has sunk to the bottom of the tank.
To check, separate the harness plug to the Tank sender unit, and ground the supply to a suitable place on the frame. The dash gauge should record "Full", therefore the sender unit is suspect.

Just changed fuel pump on 2005 f250 4x4 and fuel gauge moves up tom 1/8 tank and reads low fuel on full tank, why is my fuel gauge not working correctly

The fuel sending unit rod was bent during the instalation giving you the false readings. This is the thin metal rod that attaches the float to the sender.

It has 2 possible solutions 1) fuel sending unit is going bad which the tank has to be dropped to change, 2) you have a bad cluster panel. Hope this helps

Fuel gage showing half a tank but trip computer only registering 60 miles left

Its very simple. If the gauge is showing half full then fill the tank and see how much fuel it takes. If the amount you add is approximately 50 percent of the fuel tank capacity then you know the fuel gauge is accurate . In that case the computer is giving an inaccurate reading and should be ignored. All you need is an accurate fuel gauge - it does not matter a row of beans what the computer says if the fuel gauge is reading correctly.

Why is gas gauge not working correctly since fuelpump was replaced.

Is this a flex fuel vehicle. If so, call the dealership and ask the parts dept. if there is a gauge module (perhaps behind the instrument cluster). This may be the culprit and needs to be replaced.

Fuel gage aint working

all parts may be new but if the fuel gauge sender float has been bent when being installed into tank this will give false readings - if the float has been bent up during installation then it is likely that it will only read fro three quarters of a tank up as the float can not get any lower due to being bent, I recommend that a new pump/float is installed very carefully.

Gas gauge shows low fuel but there is plenty of fuel

Hi.
3 options.
1.The electrical coupler to the Fuel tank may have got corroded, creating a power "shunt".
2. The tank level foat, with has a rheostat on it has failed.
3. The tank Level Float has perforated, and the inducted fuel has made it "sink", giving a false reading in all cases.

Sending unit. Its all one unit including fuel pump, float, ect. The check engine light is because of the high or low resistance in the unit. Let me know if you have already fixed.. You have to drop the tank to get to it also.
