If you've replaced the thermostat, water pump, filled the system with a 50/50 mix of coolant and water and have no leaks, next make sure the cooling fans are functioning. There could also be a blockage in the system. Check the coolant temperature with a non contact thermometer to confirm the car is actually overheating and your temp gauge isn't wrong.

Im sorry to tell you that after changing all components in cooling system, (Im assuming this included the waterpump?) your problem is most likely being caused from cylinder head gasket failure. Removal of the cylinder head to replace this gasket should only be undertaken by a very mechanically minded person. Good luck.

Is the thermostat installed correctly? There is a bleed hole on the thermostat with a rivet in it. That should be up. Is the coolant level topped off? There should be a bleed screw on the manifold if I remember correctly. Honda's are very sensitive to coolant level. Check the cooling fans to see if they are running. The left one should be for cooling and the right fan for when a/c is turned on. You can jumper the plug for the coolant temp sensor ( where the lower radiator hose attaches to the block) and the fan should run when the car is running. If all else fails, you should have your cooling system pressure tested as this could be a blown head gasket.

Check the coolant level first, if it is low on coolant you'll have a surging idle. If the coolant is okay then the IACV on the throttle body is faulty. That's the part with two smaller coolant hoses attached to it.

My ABS light on my 1996 Honda Prelude is on. How

the light will only turn off when the ABS system fault that caused the module to turn the light on is repaired, to do this u need to have the dealer test the system for fault codes, most likely one of the four wheel speed sensors will be defective.

Cant find bleeder valve foe coolant system on 96

dr_greg is incorect. The bleeder valve is on the thermastat housing near the intake manifold. Follow the hose from the top of the radiator to the the engine. Look for something that looks like a 12mm head nut with a metal nipple comming through it. If you change your coolant but do not open this valve untill coolant flows from it you may cause an air pocket to remain in your engine, possibly causing your car to over heat.

I just bought a 1992 honda prelude, what kind of coolant do i use

50/50 ratio of regular Anti-freeze. Prestone is pretty popular. also consider getting your coolant flushed and filled instead....chances are it hasn't been done anytime before you bought it. it will prevent headaches and save your engine as well. One over heat situation and its likely your engine will be turned into garbage.Heat kills engines.
