Open the cap at the end of the windshield wiper arm at the cowl of the Blazer. This will reveal the bolt that secures the wiper arm to the wiper linkage.unbolt the wiper arm using a 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Place the bolt to the side, as you will reuse it later. Pull the wiper arm up at the blade so that the blade of the wiper is pointing into the air. Then pull at the base of the arm, wiggling it slightly. It's a keyed gear, so it may take a little bit of work to break it free, but with the right amount of wiggling, it will disengage.goodluck

yes its the unit itself, there is a cog inside it that uses teeth to turn the blades, if its missing a tooth or a couple it will just stop pushing it will force it onto the next few teeth catching grip again then it will stop at the broken tooth. try taking it apart and seeing if you can replace the cog if not you may need to replace whole unit.
Hi,

It's a keyed gear, so it may take a little bit of work to break it free, but with the right amount of wiggling, it will disengage. Then you can replace the new windsheild wiper arms to it.
can you be more specific? wat have you checked? fuse good? if so, turn the wipers on and rap on the wiper motor, if it starts working, replace the wiper motor circuit board. sometimes these were replaced under a recall. call your dealer and give them the VIN number and see if its a covered item.
With the pin style blades, if you look into the top of the blade at the point were the pin goes through, you will see what looks like a spring or a coil on its side. Use a small screwdriver and push down on that coil at the same time that you try to push the wiper off the pin. I have changed more of these than you can think of, and they are never easy, you have to get things in just the right possition before it will come all the way off. Once you do one the other will come off easier. One word of caution, don't let the wiper arm slip out of your hand and smack the windsheild, it can break it.
