sounds like the starter motor isn't releasing bendix spring ,try hitting starter firmly but carefully a few times, then try starting may get you going ,if does get a new starter.Replacing the battery with a bigger size isn't a good idea what was the difference in amp hour out put ?
Does it turn over? If not check the starter connections... if good try banging the starter while trying to start the car, if that does work you need a new starter... If not check power to starter, and clean up grounds. If voltage & grounds are good and still doesnt start remove starter and bench test it. If it does turn over... Check ignition system and fuel system for possible faults
Its a solenoid...it engages the bendix and truck starts...bendix should retract because power to it gets shut off by ignition switch going to "run".
Only way bendix would stay engaged or get a signal to keep turning ???
Bad contacts in ignition switch...maybe ??
Start relay in under hood power distribution panel has hot or welded contacts ?
I've gotta think about this one...hope this gives some help...
cud be a bad connection-are cables tite from batt to starter-r they clean--make sure inline fuse is workin-its next to positive cable--inspect wiring on car for flaws--may need new relay etc--get car scanned
You should have your battery tested & make sure that the terminals are cleaned & well protected wth grease once charged fully. Since you crossed/jumped the solenoid & didn't get it to start until jumping the battery (providing extra voltage), that rules out the solenoid and the ignition switch. Sometimes a battery will test full without a load but will not provide the voltage to the solenoid to actually complete the circuit, thus the clicking sound. If the battery is strong, and the starter bad, the solenoid will click solidly once, passing full voltage to the starter that will either turn, hum, or do nothing. good luck
sounds like the starter here is why....
fuse blows in the under hood fuse block because the draw is to high to the starter. I got lucky and changed to a higher amp fuse to start the car to get in to my garage..... DO THIS ONLY ONCE AS HIGH CURENT IS NOT THE FIX,
sounds like you have a problem with either the ignition switch itself or the solenoid on the starter if you jump positive power to the small wire on your starter and it turns the starter then it would be your ignition switch if it does not turn it replace your starter
