1998 Honda Accord 4 cylinder - Electrical? CAR DIES.

Our car will die when I'm driving along at whatever speed... 30mph to 60mph, it doesn't really matter, it just dies.
All dash lights will light up, the car will beep telling me the engine has shut down. So I pull over, place the car in park (it's an automatic) and then turn the key to start... it starts! Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 times before it starts, but it always starts up.
One thing I notice before it dies on me is the car will "lurk", as if to change gears, and then the engine will fail; leaving me on the side of the road. It sounds like an electrical issue, but I'm not sure.

Any ideas?

Hi..
The first step I recomend for try to fix your car is:
Get the car Scanned for see if there any present CODE.
The code help to have IDEA where or what is the problem.
If you don't want to spend money,
Go to ADVANCE Autoparts, Auto zone autoparts and some of the NAPA's Autopart, they make Computer diagnostic with out charge for that is only a free service.
If they don't found any code. I RECOMEND
Replace the FUEL PUMP Realy. "(MAIN RELAY)."
Because is one of the 90% of the problem with shutdown or non starting conditions.
The relay is located under the left side of the dash. The relay
Is bigger than a regular relay. colour gray. You can get at any autoparts.

OK... I hope this help to start diagnostic your car.
Thank you for use fixya.

I have a 1999 Honda Accord that when I drive my car will cut off in the process. When I stop it will crank after like 4 tries. What I dont get is the air still be on and the radio.

My 1998 did that too, and the culprit was the Main Relay under the dashboard, that controls electricity from the ignition to the computer and other parts. This part will start failing usually in hot weather, or high humidity, until it fails completely. Other reason could be that the idle speed sensor is not controlling rpm´s as it should, and when you let off the gas, the engine dies.
The radio and the blower of the A/C continue to work because the ignition is still in the ON position. Only way to recognize that the engine has died when rolling along, is with the KEY icon on the dashboard, the tachometer going to zero rpms, and evidently the lack of power when you press it. It is disconcerting because the brakes continue to work for a few pumps, and everything else seems to be normal, except for the minor detail that the engine has died.

1998 honda accord wont start was told its fuel relay inside carunder dash behind fuse box

that would depend. if its the main relay, it would drive normally, but then if you park and turn your car off. when you go to start it again immediately after, it wont. but if it cools a couple of minutes, it will. can you give a little bit more detail on what exactly does it do? like turn over, doesn't turn over? starts and dies? would like to help. goodluck

92 honda accord lx dies when put on brakes at a stop

Sounds like your timing belt is one tooth off on the cam, this I have seen before especially if it is a twin overhead cam. One tooth off will make it idle really low when stopping at the light especially if the engine is warm.
