I could not find a solenoid listed so it must be built to the starter, the starter relay is right above the brake cylinder on the firewall (drivers side), looks like 2 black towers the relay is inside.

You'll find it where the transmission connects to the engine. Look at the engine, stand in front of car, it should be located to the rear of the engine to the left down low.

The starter solenoid is a part of the main starter itself..it is attached to the main starter, you can easily locate it by checking the POSITIVE post of the battery to which is the battery cable of the POSITIVE post of the goes through..it is located at the side part of the main starter, a tube shaped same as a glass shaped by its form..

Do I hAve to replace the stater or the starter solenoid when the car just clicks and doesn't start for sunfire 2003 model

sounds more like the solenoid, just make sure that your battery cables are clean also, this will also cause the clicking.

2003 bmw 330xi wont start checked battery and battery is good. hear a clicking noise and that it. It does not try to start of turn over. sounds like that starter from what I'm used to hearing on other cars

The noise is coming from the starter solenoid. The plunger is acting but the Starter Solenoid Contacts are burnt. In some cases we replace the solenoid contacts and the plunger. All have 1/8" thick copper contacts.
The other options are, replace the solenoid, or the starter with a rebuild one.

I need to replace the starter solenoid on a 2003 ford taurus

The starter solenoid is attached to the starter unlike the older Fords. You will have to remove the splash guard to gain access to the starter. It is located on the front side of the motor.

Car wont start...sometimes

Sounds like a bad starter solenoid, usually cheapest and easiest to replace the starter and solenoid as a unit. It is always best to check for power between the solenoid and the starter with a test light, if the solenoid clicks but the test light doesn't light up you have found the problem in the solenoid.

Trouble starting

Your starter contacts are bad. You have 2 options: Replace the starter assembly, or remove the starter & replace the internal solenoid contacts & the solenoid plunger. This is a common problem with Toyota starters; I replace contacts 3-4 times a week.
