P0234 is over boost detected.Trouble code P0234 indicates the power train control module senses a dangerously high boost pressure from the engine's forced induction system. Levels of boost over recommended levels can harm engine.

if you go on the internet and punch in Chrysler PT cruiser codes they will come up. they indicate a problem with that circuit the code relates to but you have to check it out. does not indicate a part to be replaced.

Is it a Chrysler 2001 PT Cruiser or a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Not sure if it still works,but this works on a 2001 PT.To see if there are any codes turn the key on then off 3 times fast,on the third time leave it on,Where the odometer is will display the trouble codes.Just count on1 on 2 on 3.At 24,000 ,68,000 110,000 miles my wife's 01 PT would not start(EGR Valve)at 75,000 & 140,000 crank position sensor.First time ran bad second time just died and wouldn't restart.Well hope the key thing still works and good luck.If you can get the codes then go to this link.

Good place to start, but If you check directly with Chrysler there may be a technical service bulletin, that isn't posted yet. Have the codes cleared when work done, and see what happens.

This doesnt show up for your car and I was wondering if you could either cofirm it with him or get someone else with adifferent brand OBD 2 scanner to pull codes. Is your PT from europe?
