Question about 2002 Ford SVT Focus

1 Answer

I just got a 2002 ford focus and I noticed a slight knocking on the pagenger side when going over bumps. I got home and noticed an oil like substance on the ground. I checked the oil it is full and the engine is dry on and around oil the gasket seal or on top of engine. I pray it is not a big fix because the car I had was so bad for repairs... I had to get help fixing it. I had a 96 Jetta u name it it went wrong. That is why I went with a ford.

Could be the struts but more likely a worn out torsion bar link. Have them checked for play. They are not expensive.

SOURCE: Loud engine knocking on 2001 Ford Focus

Sounds to me like a very common problem has occured to your neighbor. If this is a SOHC engine, one of the valve seats in the number 4 cylinder has fallen out. I'm sure it has damaged the head and the piston. Stop trying to run it or you might blow a hole in the cylinder wall or break a rod or both.

I have a 2002 ford focus. two weeks ago after a oil change at a quick-lube joint. i noticed a oil leak on driveway. took it to my mechanic and he replaced valve cover gaskets and oil switch. i noticed...

if the place where you had the oil changed used a oil flush pressure system they could of damaged the seal as they not supposed to have that amount of pressure on them, this would damage all or most of the oil seals. a good oil change is were they dont use one of these systems they cause more problems over time. if you do an oil change its best to do it your self or at a garage you trust. and ask them to add flush cleaner this is a substance you add to the oil and run for 15 min in the engine and then do the oil change, you dont always need to use a flush only if there is a build up of oil carbon in the engine. some build up is normal but if you change the oil regular you don't need to flush as its only old oil that needs changing and flushing. hope this helps

Both fans not working on my v reg 2000 ford focus

did something happen recently. not normal for them to quit but there are fuses and relays to control them. one is for cooling engine temp and the other comes on with the a/c. if the engine is running and you turn on the a/c you should get one fan on. do you have an autozone in your area or advanced auto parts they both have scanners and ford systems has a self test through the scanner that will check the fans.did you look to see if anything fell in the housing and is blocking them - can you move the blades (with engine off) as it gets warm you will need those fans so try checking all these and if it helps please reply and good luck

Front driver side suspension knock over bumps

See if you can bounce car and replicate the noise. If you can, you should be able to find it, and put your hand on it. Stabilizer bushing are a place to look, both at the lower a arm and on the frame. If you narrow it down to the strut, it will need to be replaced. The front trans mount also goes bad, try putting it in drive with your foot on the brake and give it some gas and see if the engine moves an excessive amount.

2002 325i Knocking noise front suspension

This noise is likely caused by swaybar end-link joints. Newer cars use solid rods with ball and socket joints, to connect the ends of the swaybar to the frame. These ball and socket joints at the end of these rods, create an amazingly noticeable and annoying noise in the car when you go over the slightest bump. There is no way to test these things unless you disconnect one end and check to see how tight the ball is in the socket just by wigging the with your hands. If they move around at all without pressure, they are no good. Go to ebay and search "bmw endlinks " for a picture.
