I hit a curb now when i start it immediatley shuts off

the inertia switch may have been tripped due to the impact of hitting the curb and blowing out tire. blame ford for this design because in the past they manufactured cars that would blow up during collisions. so all ford vehicle now come with a intertia switch to shut off fuel when it senses extreme impact. all you have to do is flip the switch and your car should start and run again. its a pain. look for location of switch in owners manual.

may need the collision sensors reset..try this disconnect the battery negative with th e key in the run position, then shut everything off and reconnect the battery.. then turn the key to thr run position for a few seconds...this resets all the factory presets.. see if the car will start..repost findings...

if you hit on the pass side check to see if the crank sensor under the pully was damaged. Alot of times it can get damaged and it wont start.

check fuel cut-off switch, shut fuel down on in impact.think its located in trunk, check owners manual. ;hope this helps.

If i understand your question. You hit a curb and now your car will not start. If this is the case. All cars after these days have fuel cut off switches. If you are in an accident the switch trips and shuts off the fuel pump. If you have the ouners manual it will tell you were to find the rest button. If not most of them are in the back of the car in the truck area. Look for a sticker or other info panel most of them are marked. Good Luck!

HI THERE I HAVE A JAGUAR XJ8 1998 AND I AM AWARE OF AN INERTIA SWITCH WHICH CUTS OFF THE FUEL SUPPLY TO THE ENGINE IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT OR BUMP I HAVE NEVER USED THIS MYSELF BUT IT IS IN THE DRIVERS FOOTWELL BEHIND THE FASCIA COVER ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE.HOPE THIS HAS BEEN HELPFULL.

check and make sure both battery terminals are still snug or the main power wire to your starter came off

look in the trunk on either side for an opening with a button that you press. there may even be a sticker telling you that it is the fuel shut off.

You might try looking under the car for smashed fuel lines.The fuel lines run down the sides under the car,running up on a curb could very easily crush them leading to fuel starvation.Good luck,

The fuel shut switch is located at the left of the brake master cylinder (near the top plate of the front left shock)
