My glove box latch broke not sure how to fix it. I can't open the glove box

Find another Kia Sportage and look at that working glove box to see what you should do to fix yours. It helps if you or a friend is "mechanically inclined".

If you look under glove box you will see two to four screws that hold the glove box on. Take out the screws and the glove box will drop down and you can get inside and release latch..then you can get a replacement latch and replace.

Sure it is, have confidence in yourself. Do the exact opposite you do to remove the old one when you install the new one. You'll do fine

Gently pry around the cover with a flat tip screwdriver until you can feel where it is jammed. Then work that area until it opens. There is probably a piece of plastic, paper or cloth stuck there.

I have an 03 Aztek and my latch just broke the trick to getting it open is a screwdriver or a little hook of some sort... Pull the handle back and look up under u will see a metal bar on the right side. get a grip of that and pull/pry a little bit and it will open. Once open there are 2 philips head screws holding it in and that's it

if the latch and lock are already broken, then use a pry bar or screw driver and break it open. that is the only way...

Guess what? Volkwagen makes you buy the entire glove box assembly, including lock and door in gray, black or beige for around $145. No way to fix the latch because it is encased in sealedand glued plastic. Good luck! Mine just broke, also.
