'91 Honda Accord, Auto.
Hard to start if set in sun all day. Slight hesitation early in morning when in garage. Plenty of crank but acts like not getting fuel. RPM drop off upon slight acceleration to maintain consant speed, then picks up after hesitation. (3,000 @ 70mph, slight acceleration to keep 70 mph, the drops to 2,900 rpms, hesitates, then jumps up to 3,200 rpms and maintains speed.)
Items Replaced:
Timing Belt replaced in '05.
Distributor replaced in '05.
Wiring Harness, plugs replaced in '05.
Plugs changed within last 6-months.
Emission Valve recently replaced.
Injectors, plates and linkage cleaned last month.
Fuel pump checks out okay.
Fuel Filter replaced last month.
Any clues?

If the car starts to hesitate at right around 2000 to 2300 RPMs then the EGR ports on the intake manifold need to be cleaned out. The exhaust gas is flooding only one cylinder and causing the hesitation(misfire of that flooded cylinder) since all the other ports are blocked off with carbon build-up. This happen right when the EGR valve opens, letting in the exhaust gas. To find out if this is indeed your problem, remove and plug up the rubber vacuum hose going into the EGR valve and drive the car. If it stops hesitating, that's the problem.
I would check the timing belt. If it is hard to access, then pull the distributor cap or valve cover. If nothing moves as you crank it. Your belt broke.
Try replacing the fuel filter. Change your sparkers too, and MAKE SURE YOU GAP THEM PROPERLY. You can get a tool to do that at any auto parts store for about $1. I believe the accord needs to be gapped at .039 inches.
it has to be under warranty, probably bumper to bumper for another 4 years. why on earth would someone solicit mechanical advice from shadetree mechanics when there are dealers with trained mechanics and all the computers and tools and goodies at their disposal? take it to a dealer.
Your speed sensor may cause other problems like not shiftig all gears, if the car acts like it is cutting of, check for proper fuel pressure, air intake firlter, spark plugs, throthle positioner sensor, idle motor.
my 91 had a similar problem early in the year..... mechanics replaced some chip in my car that did not tolerate sitting in heat very well. very common in these models, my mechanic told me especially since my car would do the whole initial purring thing, just not completely start......
