Seems to be a turn off and on key thing ( turn key to 2click then step on gas pedal 10 times ) or check gas cap !? Or just turn key on and off 10 times to clear it out !?
What's missing ? Fuel , spark . What condition is the battery in ? Fully charged 12.6 volts . When you turn the key to start does the starter spin the engine ? A crank no start or nothing happens when you turn the key to start . Videos on youtube ! Crank no start or no crank no start .
Probably gas or spark related. Check for spark on a spark plug wire, or on a couple of plug wires would be better. If you have a strong blue spark, then the coils are good, ignition is good, and you will need to see if gas is getting up to the engine. Do you hear the fuel pump come on?
It's a possibility that the fuel pump went out. Open up the gas cap have someone turn the key switch on (not start position)have your ear at the opening of the gas inlet. Listen for a buzzing or clicking type sound (like a pump kicking in). if you here this, then your pump should be fine. Spray a little starting fluid into the throttle body and try starting it. If it starts buts shut down, then you have a fuel problem.
Hi, if you have the resistor in your key blade, that is the VATS system acting up. Fortunately there is a cheap bypass that you can do on this particular system. First though, I would try the other key, if you have one. If no other key or neither key will work, the problem is usually in the steering column. The bypass averts these problems. All you need is an ohmmeter, some 1/4 watt resistors, and a soldering gun/iron. If you are not good with electronics, maybe you know someone that is. I have done this fix in an hour for free. listen for the fuel pump to engage when you turn the key would to the on position, not all the way to the start position. Have someone knListen above the gas tank in the trunk or below for the sound of a small Electric Motor starting up and running. If you do not hear this it is likely a fuse to your pump blown. If so there's probably are reason, likely the screen that filters the fuel before it goes to the pump may be clogged. The this is often from using dirty gas cans when trying to get that extra free gas from grocery store fueled points. The
