Just looking for location of oil pressure switch 1988 xj6 jaguar

On the gearbox you will find a switch that looks like an oil pressure switch, it will have two black wires connected to it.

most cars, its closest to the center gallery in, the engine block.
usually dead center left or right side.

The fuel pump is in the gas tank.

check the oil level in the gearbox with the engine running and in drive ,handbrake on of course ,if oil ok then throw it away as the repair is more than the car is worth ,1988 ?? tops its only 500 uk pounds just look on autotrader.co.uk

This is OK. Oil pressure is always higher when the engine is cold.

As an engine accumulates miles the pressure will start to drop due to bearing clearances increasing.

If this just started to happen you may want to replace the oil filter and or oil pressure sending unit.

master cylinder needs to be rebuilt or replaced

get the oil pressure checked with a master gauge at a garage if ok will be oil gauge sender unit at fault if low with master gauge check oil pressure relief valve on filter housing i assume you have checked oil level

Sounds like fuel.
Check fuel inertia cut off switch is pushed down for on.?
Check for fuel pressure to the engine.
Sure your fuel is not water contaminated ?
Possibly the flow meter is faulty, or has an air leaks on the hose going to the inlet manifold.
I see you posted this on the 14th Dec O8 so perhaps you have it running OK by now ?

This is a child safetly feature. There should be a small lever on the inside of the door frame on the door itself. You will have to switch it back in order for the handles to function again.
