Hey there my best bet solution would be to remove the c clip and wrap some wire round it a few times to solve the problem..

SOURCE: Super cab, 4.6 liter 4X4. How do I remove the C-clips on the rear axels?

If you turn then gears just right the clips slide out. That clip has a lot of tension on it so be careful once they're out. It pretensions the limited slip.

SOURCE: 1993 Jeep Wrangler - Front Axel U joint, why no C clips?

The factory u-joints use plastic injection for retainers so when it comes time to replace the factory u-joint use a torch to heat the u-joint cups and you will see a melted plastic worm come out the side of the drive shaft, now you can drive out the old joint.
The replacement joint will use inner c-clips.

I have an 1994 GMC sierra 1500 4x4 and it has a lever to shift it into 4x4 hi or lo or 2 hi. I can shift it into any position but my front tires do not turn only the back ones! what could be the problem??...

the front axel control solinoid is not working, it's on the right front side of the front axel, it most likely the cause [ commom problem]. it's easy enough to replace, it just unscrews from houseing. good luck.

My transfer case fuse keeps on blowing cant find out why 1999 gmc suburban

Check the four wheel drive actuator on the front axel. It's on the front right side of the front differential housing. It's round with a big hex on it where you would put a wrench, I think it's 1-1/4". Anyway, follow the wires there's a plug about 6 inches away, unhook the wires going to the actuator. Now see if it still blows the fuse, if the fuse don't blow the actuator is the problem. It just scerws out and the new one screws in and hook up the wires. This is a fairly common problem with those trucks. On the early K series GM had the four wheel drive and the heater fan on the same circuit. The actuator would go bad and blow the fuse so now your stuck in the snow with no heat. I think GM changed that in the later years.

Automatic 4x4 locking hubs one side not locking in

There is a possibility the axel U-joint is binding, this will put side load on the hubs and keep them from working properly. Turn the steering wheel either far right or left and with front of truck off the ground or the front end disengaged, see if the axel shafts turn free, both sides. If there is binding the U-joint(s) will have to be replaced.

I have a disconnected vacuum line. it is located at the T by the hinge on the driver side. it is a short line no longer than 8 inches and comes out of the right side of the T. where does this line belong?...

You might want to chk. to see if it hooks to your diafram that locks in your front axels, or to a port around the back of the plentem, you should hear it whisel when the truck is ideling. I would almost bet it goes to that diafram.

Front axel/hub

the hub is seized into stering knuckle..you can try putting a socket or a small 1/2" drive extension between 1 ear of front axle shaft and axle housing and turning wheels all the way to whatever side you have socket in..this will push hub out of knuckle..try doing this both ways with engine running..keep axle nut on shaft

4 wheel drive light is on in my jeep

vacumn pod on the front axel is stuck on. Jack up the front wheels spin both tires at the same time and see if the front drive shaft turns. If it does the 4x4 on the axel is engaged. The front drive shaft on these should not turn when vacumn pod is disengaged. YJ's have a split axel on the right side inner axel shaft.
