Hello you will need to look closely at the gear teeth on the shaft the way to put these in is a set way you will have to keep making very small turns until the gear teeth line up so try turn just a little not even a 1/4 inch and so on the will go in if you have no hoist to get it at eye level try to put them in not properly centered can by trouble some perhaps have someone assist you they hold the outer joint and shaft while your holding the inner and aligning it to go in it might take a dozen tries or so but be patient it will go in.

98 volvo S70. found that driver side axle had displaced from trans.replaced seal and clip. cant get axle back in even without retainer clip the axle wont even reach the seal landing.

comment on any drive line work done recently as this problem has not occurred before so it is suspicious
drive axles are different lengths and if the wrong side axle is fitted , this problem will occur

I just had cv axel replaced. In less then 75 miles I am having transmission problems. Fluid is also leaking, I steady stream. Where could the fluid be coming from?

Could be coming from the axle seal, that's where the axle fit in to the transmission, some time's while installing axle, the seal will get damage, hope this was very helpful.

What kind of transmission do i get for a 90 acura legend 4 door 24 valve v6?

I assume you have an automatic transmission, and that you are looking to replace it with a like unit. All good wreckers have interchange info on these, if you choose a used imported unit there are some that have different axle sizes, be careful!!! You don't want to get it all in only to find your axles wont fit, a good company to call if FEI thier toll free # is 1800 552 9889 they are most helpful and know thier stuff! Hope this helps.

How to remove a transmission?

Hope this is not your first, if it is you picked a tough one to learn on. Here goes:1 disconnect negative battery cable 2 Raise and support the car, a lift is the best tool for the job here, but you can do this on jackstands, they just need to be tall ones at least 2 feet of clearance under the car. 3 Install engine holding fixture, this supports the back of the engine when you remove the crossmember and trans.4 remove left front wheel, seperate ball joint remove drive axle retaining nut then remove drive axle from transaxle by prying at joint closest to transaxle. Do not pull on the outer joint or you will pull the inner joint apart. 5 place transmission jack under transaxle pan. 6 remove bolts from crossmember then remove the crossmember 7 remove inspection cover then remove three torque converter bolts 8 remove transmission cooling lines from fittings on transmission 9 remove shift cable 10 unplug 4 wire plug from front side of transmission 11 remove 6 bolts from bell housing 12 remove speedometer cable 13 remove three bolts from around right hand drive axle, then pry axle loose from transmission. You do not need to remove axle from car, just let it hang.14 pull transmission away from engine far enough to disengage the alignment dowels and finish pulling right hand drive axle from transmission housing then lower the transmission to the floor 15 pull transmission from under vehicle.

When removing the wheel bearing hub from the drive shaft, i may have pulled the drive shaft out of the transmission. What do I do?

If the drive axle came out of the transmission just line up the splines and gently tap it back in. They usually just snap in and pop out with a little pressure. When complete recheck the transmission fluid as you may have lost a little.

4wd light flashes and have replaced the front actuator switch and the encoder(transfer case motor) and nothing has changed. it sounds like it wants to kick in but never fully engages. I have had people on...

after looking at the schematics for this vehicle, I can say with great certainty that you might have something wrong in your front axle on a straight axle model that wont let the servo engage the front axle. Now if you have independant front suspension, then where the servo motor goes into the transfer case could be the problem. pull the servo motor from the case/axle and look at the engaging mechanism. You are looking for worn parts that could cause binding or broken parts. This servo motor gets its command voltage from the ecm. The signal for the ecm generates from the transmission and your in cab switch. If you can hear the motor trying to engage, then all the other factors are working up to the motor arm. The light is just a by product of the ecm trying to engage the front axle

Cannot install cv axle on 98 plymouth voyager lefthand side

This is quite a job if your not a mechanic. I did mine a year ago. With the front wheel still on the ground you need to crack and undo the large axle nut on the outside of the brake disk. Jack up and secure whole left side of car. This will tilt the vehicle so the oil wont drain out of the transmission. Remove wheel. Undo 2 large nut and bolts at the bottom of the strut. Makes job easier aswell if you undo brake caliper and remove off disc and also the tie rod end off the arm. This will allow more movement to remove the driveshaft. Pull the hub assembly outwards and push the axle end back thru and out of the hub. After this comes out you need to pull the axle out of the transmission with either a sharp pull or you may need to pry out with a large screwdriver. When fitting new axle into transmission, make sure the gap in the circlip is sitting at the top and down inside the groove si it wont damage the seal on the way in.
Hope ive helped you.

Axal joint wont flex to line up with transmission

Take the axle joint back apart, there are a few ways that the joint will fit back together but only one way will be correct. It wont flex because it is assembled wrong.
