Clint, you might want to check your break switch to see if your button is stuck. It is right above your brake pedal. The pedal led actually hits the button of the switch. See if you can loosen it.

My 2002 ford focus zx5 Break lights are staying on and won't come out of park

Sounds like a defective brake light switch. This switch also helps control the shift lock for the gear shift. The switch is attached to the brake pedal. Try wiggling the switch/wiring to see if this corrects the problem. If so, I would recommend replacing the brake light switch as it will most likely happen again

2003 ford focus replaced brake switch lights will work in park but when i engage revs neut drive brake lights stay ?????

I have the same problem with my 03 Focus hatchback! Someone stoppedme yesterday to tell me that they looked like they were always on when i was driving but when i was in "Park" they worked... This particular driver was also driving a focus hatchback and asked me if my Cruise Control was working.. It actually was not and he told me the same thing happened with his focus. He said it was a wire attached to the back brake lights that had broken. I have not yet gotten it fixed. has anyone else had this problem?
