How To Rebuild A 4L60E Automatic Transmission ... Also here is a link to some common break/fixes that may require a rebuild:... GMC canyon, envoy, safari savana, sierra Sonoma, Yukon, ....Great video, my 96 sierra 4x4 when shifting into high gear motor races as if nothing is there........................always ...
Mar 18, 2011 - The 4L60-E is an automatic shift, four-speed overdrive, longitudinally...... 4l60e 2002 gmc 4x4 was not driven for 1 year,will not shift into 3rd or ... I have a 2005 GMC envoy 4x4 6 Cylinder I assume it is a 460LE Transmission.
If you have no reverse, more than likely, you have either a stripped or broken sunshell, assuming you have the 4L60E transmission. Are you absolutely sure you have all forward gears? Another indication of the sunshell being defective, will be no engine braking in manual second.
GM is notorious for one size fits all, so most any 4x4 transmission will fit. I would stick to close years that can provide the same style transmission, like 700r4 or 4L60, so the electrical just plugs in. Hope this helps.
I have also personally seen/fixed a 4L60E that had a broken reverse servo piston,it is the piece that engages the low/reverse band under a cover in the valve body area,a piston with a band engagement pin. Anyone that has this problem can have it repaired in the vehicle, its worth checking BEFORE replacing the trans unless the fluid is burn't or there are other symptoms present. Good luck and hope this helps. keep me posted, be glad to help
