Would like to know what the process is to reset the TCM on a 2002 dodge grand caravan, the van while driving it stays stuck in 2nd gear was told that the TCM needs to be rest i need th precdure how to rest it(TCM)

It's only 4 years old! An auto electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer can clear any code and also reprogram modules. You can clear codes yourself by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. You will need to reset the security system after the disconnection.

It seems the dodge transaxles are fully computer controlled and the input and output VSS sensors and their wiring is usually to blame. Said to be an extremely common occurance. I found a page with a great explanation (seems to have all the same issues you do) and how to resolve with photos. Very good write up.

Most likely the second gear section of the transmission has gone bad. There are 3 or 4 different gear sections or assemblies in an automatic transmission, when they go bad, they go bad.

Most likely it is in 2nd gear which is called limp in mode. You will need to take it to someone who can pull the codes out of the TCM and let you know what is wrong with it. Could be something as simple as a bad sensor.

i have a 2002 dodge caravan drove fine yesterday morning then tried to go back out and acts like it is stuck in 2nd gear and wont shift but will go in reverse just no other forward gears

Hate to say it but, better get it in to a transmission shop or dealer A.S.A.P. If you have AAA or similar, have it towed. The less you drive it the better, if the damage isn't already done. Sorry.!

the tcm is located in the fender well behind the bumper drivers side black box check the wiring for bad cannection,

When the trans. sticks itself in 2nd gear and stays there is because it's detecting a trans. problem and puts itself in "limp in" mode. When it happens again, to somewhere to have a scan done on the trans. so you can find out which sensor on the trans. is acting up.
