I had the same problem. Went to dealer who said it probably needed to be reprogrammed (around $45-50). Paid for premium assistance with FixYA. Ginko gave me the procedure to reprogram my remotes. It was very easy and worked great. Now both of my remotes are working and it only cost me $9.99.

What are the locations of the Remote Control Door Lock Receivers RCDLR in a 2015 Malibu?

According to GM there are 3 components in the RCDLR or RKE remote keyless entry system. My key fobs with new batteries only work standing right next to the car. The range of the key fob dropped at that the same time my TPMS tire pressure monitoring system repair warning came on my dashboard. The problem is that there are 4 different components on the 2015 Malibu. I will provide the GM part numbers for these, if you please tell me where they are and also how to replace them: #13583559 Remote Control Door Lock Receiver #13502554 Antenna #13502551 Ignition Lock Key Transmitter Antenna #13502549 Low Frequency Console Antenna

How Do I Know If My Car Equipped With A Keyless Entry Remote System? I have a 1999 Ford Windstar. I bought several remotes but can't get my locks to engage. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Cathy

It does indeed have keyless entry. It needs reprogramming when you get a new remote. Also if you disconnect the battery. Usually a local car alarm fitting shop, or an auto-electrician will do it. Plus of course a Ford dealership.

2008 HHR Remote Starter not working

Is this an issue with all 2008 HHR remotes??? Highly doubtful , probably the vehicles keyless entry system . Taking the vehicle to a qualified repair shop an having the keyless entry system checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . Do you know what a DTC is ?
The keyless entry system is a vehicle entry device. The keyless entry system is used in conjunction with the body control module (BCM) to remotely activate certain vehicle features. Keyless entry will lock/unlock the doors, or release the rear compartment lid when a corresponding button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed. This is accomplished by the transmitter sending a radio frequency to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR). The RCDLR interprets the signal and activates the requested function via a serial data message to the BCM. A low transmitter or vehicle battery or radio frequency (RF) interference from aftermarket devices, such as 2-way radios, power inverters, computers, etc., may cause a system malfunction. High RF traffic areas may also cause interference that could lead to a malfunction. Keyless entry allows you to operate the following components:
• Door locks
• Liftgate lock
• Remote rear doors (Panel only)
• Vehicle locator/panic alarm
• Illuminated entry lamps
• Remote vehicle start
The keyless entry system has the following components:
• Keyless entry transmitters
• Keyless entry antenna
• 2 Way Advanced Remote Start RCDLR
• BCM

Guessing will not fix this .

Keyless entry does not unlock doors, open trunk, or start vehicle (remote start built onto keyless entry). Battery is new in BOTH remotes and neither one works. Could a fuse in vehicle be bad? Secondly,...

RFA / MOD fuse 10amp . location - insturment panel fuse box. Fuse Block - I/P
Right side of the I/P, behind the access panel
If the fuse is good your best bet would be to take it to a qualified repair shop , that doesn't mean the dealer . Lot of good independant repair shops around , just have to check the yellow pages.
Do you know what DTC'S are ? diagnostic trouble codes ! Not only the ones for the engine management system OBD 2 . There are also DTC'S for the remote keyless entry system , BCM - body control module. You need a factory or professional scan tool to view this codes
DTC B3101
DTC B3102
DTC B3103
DTC B3106

The remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) communicates with the body control module (BCM) through the keyless entry serial data circuit. When any button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed, the transmitter sends a signal to the RCDLR. The RCDLR sends a lock, unlock, or panic alarm request to the BCM, depending on which button is pressed on the transmitter. The BCM receives the message and performs the appropriate function. The BCM also uses the keyless entry serial data circuit in order to communicate with the RCDLR when programming transmitters. Do you know what serial data circuits are ?

DTC B3101 Keyless Entry Data Link Circuit Range/Performance
DTC B3102 Keyless Entry Data Link Circuit Low
DTC B3103 Keyless Entry Data Link Circuit High
DTC B3106 Keyless Entry Data Link Parity Error

This is what the factory manual said as to the location of power steering fluid reservoir ! Not much help , you would do better googling it.
The power steering fluid reservoir holds the power steering fluid and may be integral with the power steering pump or remotely located. The following locations are typical locations for the remote reservoir:
• Mounted to the front of the dash panel
• Mounted to the inner fender
• Mounted to a bracket on the engine

I have a 96 ford conversion van with a 600 plus addon keyless system and need to program new keyless remots , need to know how to get system in program mode.

Hi.

To program ( or reprogram ) a keyless entry remote transmitter into the remote keyless entry module, perform the following steps:

1. Turn the key to ON or ACC and short the two terminals of the program connector, a two-pin connector located below the driver's side of the instrument panel at the base of the steering column. All doors should lock and then unlock.
2. Press any button on each keyless entry remote transmitter in turn. All doors should lock and then unlock. If the door locks do not respond, press the button again (up to three times maximum with the same keyless entry remote transmitter). If the door locks still fail to respond, go to Pinpoint Test A.
3. Repeat Step 2 to program additional keyless entry remote transmitters into the remote keyless entry module (up to four keyless entry remote transmitters maximum).
4. Turn key off.
5. Remove the short from the program connector. All doors should lock and then unlock.
6. Verify that the keyless entry remote transmitters have been successfully programmed by pressing the LOCK or UNLOCK button on each one, and observing that the system responds by locking and/or unlocking the doors.

I hope this helps you.

Thanks!

My toyota 2007 yaris 4dr sedan keyless entry not working

If your keyless entry remote has never worked it either needs to be programmed to the vehicle or it is the incorrect remote part number for they vehicle. First step is to call your local dealership, ask for service, then verify your vehicle came equipped with the keyless entry option and verify the key fob part number. When calling the dealer have your vin# handy, they will need that. Once you have verified your vehicle has keyless entry option and you have the correct keyless entry remote part number then find a locksmith to program the remote to your vehicle. We suggest a locksmith because they are usually more affordable than the dealer and they come to you.

If your keyless entry remote has worked before and it just stopped working, here are a few tips to try to get it working again:

1) Change the battery
Batteries don't last forever, you'll be surprised how often it's just a dead battery! Search our YouTube channel on how to change a key fob battery for your specific year, make, and model!

2) Wipe the board
The board inside your remote can get a lot more filthy than you think! When the board is dirty it can prohibit the contact to the circuit board when you push down on the button. Simply wiping the circuit board off can make your key fob like new again!

3) Get it checked
Go to your local hardware store like AutoZone or Oreilly's. They usually have a RF frequency tester. This little gadget will let you know if your key fob is sending a signal. If it is, you may need to reprogram your key fob to your vehicle

4) The old car battery reset trick
I know this sounds absurd, but it works sometimes and is worth trying. If you exhausted all of the options above, disconnect both terminals on your car battery for 10 minutes. Then reconnect them and try your key fob. This has worked for many people and I have no idea why. If you do, please comment below to explain.

5) New fob!
It might be time for a new key fob! No need to dread over the expensive costs of a new key fob, at Keyless Entry Remote Fob Inc., you can get a refurbished one for a very affordable price! You won't even be able to tell the difference. Just search your vehicle make, model, and year to purchase a key fob or give us a call at 402-671-5100.
