Sounds like a vacuum hose leak. Look under the hood for any cracked vacuum hoses and replace. listen for hissing noise.

High idle is a vacuum leak, and since your brakes are not working properly, then I can bet it's a hose cracked or broken, disconnected, pop the hood and listen for a hissing sound and replace the hose.

You could have any number of problems. Sound like a lean mixture problem. Make sure all vacuum lines are connected. Make sure the upper intake is sealed properly (correct torque and tighting sequence. Spray a mist of water around the gasget area and listen for a hissing sound. If you have a scanner, test each cylinder to isolate the missfire. You may have disturbed one of the injectors and they are not firing. Some debris may have fallen into the cylinder intake port and is keeping a valve open. Plug wires may have been switched. Best thing is take it to your local mechanic.

You probably have a large vacuum leak. With the engine running, listen under the hood for a hissing sound. Check all of the rubber lines running from the intake.

MOST COMMON. iF TAHAT ISNT IT LETS MAKE SURE ITS IDLEING AT 800 RPM IF HIGHER PLEASE PUT ON FORM HERE AT FIX YA AND WE CAN WORK THIS OUT CHECK IDLE, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND THEY ARE BAD AT NEEDING MOTOR AND TRANS MOUNTS MY BET WOULD BE ON MOUNTS

I had the same problem but not with the popping sound. Try checking your vacuum hoses. My problem was with the PCV Valve elbow. It is located under the air intake hose.

Your Booster is shot more than likely. located on the drivers side firewall.
