Powerstroke problems My 2001 f-250 powerstroke will die occasionally. Usually while at idle, or once while driving slowly. Then it takes a long time for the "Wait to start" light to go off when I try to start it again. This just started about an hour ago. Never experienced this before.

if it has a 7.3l then try the cranksensor it,s right on front of engine beside harmonic balancer on the passenger side they are notorious for this and aren,t expensive to replace hope this helps
It is sometimes difficult to determine exactly what is wrong with the 7.3L engines. Many times it is hit and miss for the do-it-yourselfer. It sounds like you are getting enough fuel at first and then fuel is being constricted. You might want to try changing the fuel filter. Sometimes debris becomes lodged in the fuel tank switching valve which would require cleaning the valve or replacing it.
when is the last time you changed your fuel filters? there are usually two.a primary located on the drivers side mounted to the frame.the other sometimes located on the top of the motor. not real sure about its location for i dont work on alot on vans
fords/international have pad pedal position/throttle position sensors that go bad and you can replace the sensor or the entire pedal but does anyone know what the other sensor is underneath the tps. an accelerator switch??
