Sounds like your fuel pump to a shock!lets start by sitting in the truck turn key to on position you should here a fuel pump grunt sound like grrr if not fuel pump is going to have to be replaced as mentioned a good bank shock will pump the fuel pump out and kill it.

locate the starter motor it is beside the engine oil pan give it a tap not hard semi hard try to start see what happens you should get a click or turn over. If you have a reaction as listed then your looking at a starter replacement.you have a solenoid on your starter you give them a bang shock as the hole in the road it will disable it! this is what i'm thinking starter motor.

D4 lamp (is a huge clue)
what country is this car located or sold to first.
D4 light is like a check engine light for the transmission
it means it is failing.
your forgot to say the D4 lamp is in
the

not told what no start means
1: will not crank , the starter motor is dead.

2: cranks fast the starter motor but the engine fails to start , run and stay running.

D4 shows flash codes on old honda's

when D4 happens, shift the transmission
too all gears and back to park see if engine starts now
2001, we scan the PCM using oBD2 scan tool
all shops know how to do that. ask them to.

on another NOTE
call the guy insurance co. that hit your car
the fix it like new (or total it)
end story. do that now.

D4 is honda magic for DRIVE, the drive lamp flashes when
the tranny fails. and did and crashes to wreck wires. to lots of things. and more.

I have a 2001 Ford Focus Wagon and I am having a problem finding the fuse for the fuel pump. Could you please give me specific instructins on where it is. Thank you.

Why are you looking for the fuse for the fuel pump? If the fuse is blown, it is probably due to a shorted fuel pump motor or wires. Replacing the fuse will most likely NOT fix whatever problem you are experiencing.
On the other hand, if the engine suddenly stopped running immediately after hitting a large bump or pothole, the inertia switch may need to be reset. It is located behind the right front kick panel (See picture)

Hit pothole and engine stopped and unable to restart vehicle. shorted across the 2 starter wires and vehicle cranked but would not run. when turn ignition key nothing happens.

almost sounds as if there was water in that pothole correct? if so get some wd40 or crc and spray the distributer and or all sparkplug cables... this should sort the problem if not just leave it over night etc... to dry out

Engine turned off suddenly and wouldnot start

Several things coud cause this .. none good...
1. Bad gasoline (water in gas)
2. Head gasket blown.

You can check the "wiring" (spark):
Need another person to help
1. Set parking/emergency brake.
2. unplug one cable from a spark plug and place it on the motor or other metal
3. while "cranking" the engine, look for spark at end of sparkplug wire. It will probably spark... not an electrical problem
4. Don't touch the wire while the ignition is on .. it will shock you!

Use a can of "complete fuel system cleaner" not just an injector or throttle body cleaner. AutoZone ($9).

Hope this helps!

New battery, car wont start..mechanic says to hit the starter..where is the starter...?

first, the starter is on the bottom of the engine toward the back and has a large wire from the battery attached to it. Second, if a mechanic said to hit it he is a pretty sorry mechanic who you should never let work on even your bicycle. Hitting a starter can damage it to the point it can't be rebuilt as it cracks the housing and wire loom assy inside. Sure, it might start a time or two like that but will cost you dearly in the long run.
