SOURCE: strange beeping noise

I read on another site that if the indicator on the dash is malfunctioning and there's a fault code in the system, the beeping is a secondary indication that there's a need for service. I've had my air bag light blinking for some time now. Yesterday my gauges went out, Oil Pressure, Gas Level, Temp Level, and the Battery Charging Meter, all went dead. After starting the vehicle, it beeps 5 sets of 5 beeps. Since the dash obviously has problems, (Including the Air Bag blinking thing not working), the beeps I now hear are what you are experiencing. However, if you still see the air bag light blinking, maybe your situation is a bit different than mine.

SOURCE: Interior Lights and Door Ajar light stay w/beeping noise.

Try spraying WD-40 into the door latching mechanism (door side). I learned this fix after two battery replacements, but have only had to spray twice in the more than seven years of ownership

SOURCE: strange humming noise

It is the wheel bearing. Could be one or more. I had to change mine last year, it cost me about $50 for a pair of 2, and another $50 for labor.

Engine makes loud knocking noise that seems to be coming from the very top of the engine. I should note that this car has 175000 miles on it

Knocking noises from the overhead cam may be making the noise in question. Maybe a bad bearing on the camshaft or a spun cam.

175,000 mi. is a lot of miles for an engine, it may have been over revved at some point, or suffered from oil starvation or dirty oil with a prior owner.

It sounds like you have a bad spark plug. Take it to autozone and have them hook up an OBD II scanner to it for you. Its free of charge.

My check transmission light is on and my o/d light is flashing. I have a 2001 ford windstar sel with 155000 miles

Go to autozone for a free computer scan and get the fault codes first.

I think it may be a defective vehicle speed sensor (VSS) but the codes will tell us.

Info display on dash

be very careful remove all the trim and the screws and it should come out be very careful because they do not give you much wire behind these things and at a good salvage yard you should be able to find a replacement for your car at a cost alot cheaper
