Hello! My 99 chevy blazer won't start...I had it jumped thinking it was the battery, it started and idled it for a bit. Then I shifted into drive, accelerated for 10 feet then it died. Then a bunch of clicking and buzzing noises came from the dash. The dash lights flickered and the gauge arms flipped over and came down to rest. Couldn't start engine again, had it jumped again, it started, but died again when I shifted into drive. Please help...if it's something simple, I don't want it sitting in the shop for weeks racking up a bill. Thank you so much! You are much appreciated!!!
We had a brutally cold morning - about 15 below zero. My 99 Blazer would not start - BUT the engine was cranking enough rpms . That made me realize it is NOT the battery. It turned out to be the Fuel Pump. The tow truck driver - who has been towing cars for over 25 years - told me that Chevy cars/trucks have a problem with the Fuel Pump
Replace the battery and if that don't work your alt, is dead and needs to be replaced. i had the same problem with my van.
Get your altenator checked
I just had this EXACT thing happen to me last week on my 99 blazer! I got in it, tried to start it and got nothing. When I turned the key off I got a clicking sound that sounded like it was coming from the glove box, the clicking speed increased as long as I didn't turn the key on (no power) but it would stop if I clicked the key to the on position, or turn on the headlights, even though it wouldn't start, I had it jumped from a tow truck, drove it for an hour to charge it, during that hour was when I got the flickering and the gauge arms flipping. After I shut it off and tried to start it again I got nothing, Called the tow truck back and he said it was the battery not holding a charge. I replaced the battery, tried turning it over and got nothing, Had it towed to a garage and they replaced the ingition module, told me it was fixed, drove it home and it wouldn't start again the next day. Ended up replacing the starter. It is running fine today, but oddly enough, my high beams work but my low beams don't!
I got the low beam problem fixed. Both low beam bulbs were blown. Odd that both blew at the same time, but I think it happened when the dash lights flickered and the gauges started flipping. Perhaps a power surge went through the system and caused an overload? Not sure.. just glad it was the bulbs and not the headlight switch which is where I was headed to next. Not that the bulbs were an easy task but wasn't looking forward to pulling the dash apart either.. LOL

Well odds are that your blazer is fixed by now. Either way sounds like a bad battery, that's why you need jumps all the time. Why it would die, there are too many possibilties off hand. So what was wrong with it?

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities.
It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then
it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure
or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty
ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.
To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.
