I bought used Optima 2004 with mileage around 120k, i'm worried about the timing belt. Should I change it now? When should we make second or third change after the 60k timing belt change.

Need how to set timing belt on kia optima

I had 2006 kia optima 2.4 liter LX, I drove 150000 miles plus, it was over 100,000 miles I changed timing belt, and AC belt, alternator belt is still ok, but it was my fault, I did not change crank shaft balance belt, it next to timing belt, this very important, timing belt and crank shaft balance belt must change same time, you set all mark the same positions, you can see all clear marked
if you had OBD2 scanner is helpful to read all faulty codes if you do it your self repair
if you have any problems about KIA optima, please post on any websites, to share some ideas to other KIA optima owners, like me, I change oil every 2500 miles to make my optima runs smoother
automatic transmission fluid change every year if you put high mileage on your car, optima had hard time to find it own part some time, radiator hoses are still good condition and had hard time to find in any auto part stores in my home town, good luck and thanks for sharing.

Is there a recommended mileage for the replacement of the timing chain/belt for a 2.4 liter 16 valve 2004 Camry Toyota

It has a timing chain..Can't find any info on mileage to change?? belts are about 60.000 miles, i don't think you have to worry about changing by miles ??
You may call Toyota dealer and ask service manager?? Hope this helped you ?

I just got my crank sensor and timing belt done and my car quit after a week. took it to the shop they said now it is the starter.the shop claims the wires are old and the starter is going.I just spent 500...

the timing belt and sensor keep it in time and sync,, that shouldn't prevent it from starting, if starting is the issue you may need a starter,, depending on the mileage this is just one of those things, I have a Kia and mine went out at 120k

When di I need to change a timing belt with 120K

Now. i think the interval is 75 to 80 miles for belts. double check that it doesn't have a timing chain. if it has the 2.4 ltr eng than you have timing chain and around 120k is fine.

Gluster gauge won't illuminate

Hello hayeizmyhome...Very low mileage for a 1990 model. However... this is usually around the mileage interval the dreaded instrument cluster, panel and dash light failures start...lights will flicker, then go out, gauges will start going up and down, lcd's will become hazey and hard to read....etc.
The instruments are illuminated both day and night while the ignition is on.
When the ignition is off, the panel goes dark and you can’t see the gauges at all.
The lexus has an electronic circuit board behind the inst. cluster that has been the problem. Very expensive repair if done by dealer.
*TIP* This circuit board can be repaired if you know a good electrical technician much cheaper.
The recommended timing belt replacement interval on the LS is 120k...water pump should be replaced also, the timing belt runs the water pump. The LS has a non-interference engine, meaning if the belt breaks, no damage will be done to the engine...
Hope this answers your questions..and your lexus runs for many more miles...with proper care and maintainnace, it will.

Headlight change

He is right you do have a belt that works the timing chain that is located in the block attached to the cam. but all cars have timing chains in the block so you may want to look into that with the dealership or ask around if it would be a good idea to replace it. I know neons need them but i think Kias may also need it also.

And Q 2 is there a wiring harness on the back of the light assembly Cus with the new cars they just need to replace the bulb in side the light housing and if thats the case then you need the get the light bulb for your car and then just twist out the harness part it should be a black area with wires going into it and then twist it to get it out.
