I have a 2006 VW Jetta 2.5 L , my exhaust warning light came on recently an I took the car to a VW shop , they told me 800 to fix an replace both o2 sensor an radiator sensor , I'm mechanically inclined an I'm interested how much time an money it would take to fix this myself an I'm also wondering where it all is in my engine compartment , thanks

What you here running after you shut your car off is just your exhaust fan. Your turbo will not continue to run. As for the oil change effecting the exhaust this may be an issue. IF they actually drained the regular oil and then put synthetic then you should be ok. But if they just put more in on top then they may have messed up your Cat converter...good luck with everything
It may be the computer itself. If the light keeps returning, either the computer is faulty or the fans are really failing. I do not recommend dealers but actual mechanic shops.
o2 sensors will put your check-engine-light on. it is attached to the exhaust (closest to the motor)and rusts-out sometimes. you could try to fix it by buying the o2 sensor and use a socket-set to see if it loosens. i 'm not a mechanic but have had the issue, in the past, with the jetta II's and a 1997.the guys at vw dealers are great with info, if your a hands-on kinda guy/girl. mike420
from what is was told locally is that it would be around $800 - $1000 and can take just around a full day to do. it is not a quick job, so labor costs can be high and the price of parts play a big factor in it just because it is a vw.
