I have a 2006 Hyundai elantra. After below zero temps last night my windshield wipers are not working. The first time I tried to turn them on it sounded like they tried to move. Now I don't even get that. The spray does work however. Is it the motor? transmission? Fuse? Thanks in advance.

They were frozen the first time you tried them. You could have blown a fuse. The spray worked because you have the antifreeze fluid it the tank. So try the fuse first.

The rear wiper motor is separate from the front one. That is right behind the back door panel at pivot point. Your wiper motor and pump for your front washer fluid is under the grill below your pivot points on the front wipers.

2000 hyundai elantra wipers not working

Try to remember when it stopped working. Was it due to heavy snow on the windshield? Did it start making noise before dying? This can pinpoint the answer to your question. Usually it is 2 possibilities, fuse is blown or the motor is burnt. Try the fuse first. Good luck!

The windshield wipers wont go back into position

Hyundai uses plastic washers in their windshield wipers to prevent wiper transmission damage due to excessive force ie trying to use them when they are stuck to the windshield. There's a small hinged "cap" at the base of each wiper. Flip the cap up and using a pair of pliers, tighten down the bolts. Be careful not to overtighten them or risk doing damage to the washers. If this doesn't solve your problem, you may need to replace the washers beneath the nut that connects to the wiper transmission.

2000 Hyundia Elantra Windshield wipers stuck in up position. Is it a Fuse or the Motor?

Turn on key & wipers--try to move wiper arms--not real hard--may break something--sometimes wipers will start moving.Next--have motor tested--then check for fuse, fusible link, or circuit breaker--depends on make of car. If fuse--replace--if other take to qualified mechanic.

After a heavy snowfall, I turned on the windshield wipers and now they don't work.Yes I had heavy snow on the windshield

Check for a blown fuse. With the heavy snow, the blades probably were prevented from moving which would have caused the wiper motor to overheat and blow a fuse.
