I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero. A month ago I did have the ignition replaced in it to the tune of $795. I got in my car today, and it turns, starts then shuts off after about two seconds. It does actually turn over, there are no security light issues, SERVICE engine light on. What could this problem be? The car has gas.

Thank you. I did try it, no security light came on. It has been monsoon rain in my area, drove through some huge puddles, the typical anti-lock goes off, my traction control goes off, check engine goes on as well. This is normal, and I've grown accustomed to it.

I dried the fuse box with a rag, it seemed damp. I kept trying to start it, finally, it did start but there was a very loud whirring noise, like a belt was wet or something.
