It still sounds like a passkey or theft deterrent issue. The check engine light is most likely a B2865 or B2860 code for an invalid key, likely related to the ignition switch being replaced. The passlock sensor is inside the ignition switch, and could have been damaged during install. Try just turning the key on and watch the security light, if it starts to flash after a few minutes, keep the key on for 10 minutes (or until it stops flashing). Then retry to start. You may have to have it scanned for further diagnosis.
Thank you. I did try it, no security light came on. It has been monsoon rain in my area, drove through some huge puddles, the typical anti-lock goes off, my traction control goes off, check engine goes on as well. This is normal, and I've grown accustomed to it.
I dried the fuse box with a rag, it seemed damp. I kept trying to start it, finally, it did start but there was a very loud whirring noise, like a belt was wet or something. My gas gage does not work, my shifter lights on my dashboard and my temp gage did not work.
