He might of just erased the the code. it could be something as simple as the egr valve which wouldn't efect the engine performance

Can't put gas into my 2010 subaru forester

Having same issue with my 2010 subaru - seems common although the dealer refuses to admit it. P0453 CEL code indicates a problem with the EVAP - this came on a few days before I was no longer able to refuel. THey say I need a new Fuel Tank Pressure sensor. Essentially the fuel tank valve is closed, when it should be open when the ignition is off. Wating 4 days for the part, hopefully thats what it is. WHat ended up fixing your problem Tom?

undo the negative battery terminal for around 10 to 15 minutes and then put it back on and the light should be out. it resets the computer

Check engine light

Did the dealer read the code and find out what is was, or did they just reset it? You need to have the code read, so you know what the problem is. Once you know what is throwing the code you can replace that particular part or address it's issue. If that does not work, it could be something similar/related to the issue of the code. With having such little kilometers on the vehicle and the fact that it's only 2+ years old, I would think that the vehicle would still be under warrany. If it is under warranty, I would take the vehicle back the dealer and insist that the issue that is throwing the code be fixed. Resetting the code does nothing to address the issue. It could be possible that nothing is wrong with the vehicle and maybe an issue with the ECM/PCM, or the electronic brain for the vehicle.
Good luck and let us know how you do!
