Occassionally, my 2002 PT Cruiser will not start. When I turn the key there is a "zing" sound. After several attempts it will finally start. Seems to happen more when it's cold. What is the cause?

Replace start relay located in fuse box under the hood. I did that with daughters PT cruiser and has not had starting problem since.

My 2002 PT CRUISER will not start! There is no clicking when I try to start the engine, and the battery is at as full charge. WTF!

Sounds like the starter drive,usually they will disengage early ,only crank the engine for a revolution or so.Could just replace the drive ,or just change the entire starter
