Check the condition of spark plugs, if dirty or oily could be the timing gear or timing, wouldn't show a code, if plugs are white suggests lack of fuel, also no code . ( injector cleaner and ethanol remover for the latter ). Repair shop for timing.
You'll need to check the fuel pressure w/ a gauge you can get at most auto parts stores. Not sure what it should be for your SUV but probably in the 40 psi to 60 psi. It should also hold that pressure when shut off. If you do replace the fuel pump, strongly recommend that you use an OEM part as aftermarket ones while cheaper tend to have a short life.
Can't give you a definite answer (testing will) but if the temperature sending unit and the manifold air temp sensor are a bit out of range, the information going to the computer may at one point be in conflict resulting in an improper fuel ratio. Dry-gas is not useful as most fuel already has alcohol added to it and it can actually confuse things further as it is far less dense than gasoline. Sensors can go out of range and not be picked up as a fault because they work together, and though each is still within limits, the sum of one or more may cause a problem if they are off a bit. You can do simple component tests using a digital multi-meter and a haynes or chilton manual as a guide. What happens if you do not stop and "drive through" the problem time?
You haven't changed everything...map sensor controls spark and fuel mixture as does the throttle position sensor, also check the idle control valve...Don't just buy stuff...do testing first.
