How do I remove the cv axle in a ford telstar 1993 - both sides

Line the outer up in the right place and enter it until the circlip is against the splines . Use a large heavy hammer and rap the end of the shaft hard and the circlip will pop in the groove and allow the shaft to go home.. Removal from the shaft is much the same as it has a circlip inside the transmission. So remove the shaft from the wheel. Use a hammer to hit the cv joint so that it jumps the shaft out of the transmission .

2005 Nissan Altima... replaced drivers side strut and the inner cv joint seperated when the lower arm dropped. The cv joint is still in the transmission but the boot is stretched and the axle will not go...

It can be fixed but now you will need to remove it from the trans and cut the band off the larger side of the boot. then re-alighn the knuckles and slide the 3 joints in 1 at a time. You going to need a new band and the crimper which you can usualy rent from a parts store that has free tool rental. Make sure you grease the joint before you slide the boot back on. Its easier that it looks. When you pull the cv joint out of the transmission some fluid will come out too so use a drain pan. Sometimes they are a pain to get out but a good prybar and some patients usualy works. Pry as you turn the cv joint and it will pop out. Good luck!

How do you change a cv joint on a 1992 dodge caravan? The right cv joint is out. Do we need to replace the right axel or can we just change the cv joint?

You need to replace the whole right side axle shaft. Take the ball-joint loose and the axle nut. Pull the shaft from the hub assembly and then pull it from the transmission

How to replace a CV joint 2000 Cavalier Drivers side

Buy the right CV axle. Raise right front of vehicle. Remove wheel. use a lugnut and washers to secure brake rotor so that it is not flopping and trapping rust behind. Remove axle nut. Loosen nuts from outer tie rod end stud and lower ball joint stud almost all the way off, but do not remove them completely. Seperate the studs from knuckles by striking each knuckle with a ball peen hammer. After the tie rod and lower ball joint are seperated from the spindle knuckles, pry down on lower control arm and push end of axle through hub toward transaxle until hub and spindle assembly is free from axle/CV joint. Place drain pan under transmission. Carefully place pry bar between innner CV joint and transmission and pop axle assembly loose. Install new axle in reverse of the dissassembly.

My driver side cv joint inner boot keeps breaking

Are you replacing the cv axle yourself. If you are going with an aftermarket axle, that may be your problem. I would recommend going back to O.E. Also, some original saturn parts may be hard to find.

The right side inner cv joint cup is wobbley, is it the cv joint or a bearing on the transmission? Thank you

to find this out hold with both hands the cv joint pull on the inner shaft when holding the outer shaft still if it moves a lot its the joint, if it dont move much, its not the joint so then pull on the outer part of the joint that go's into the gearbox, dont hold the shaft only hold the inner most part of the cv joint that go's into the box if it moves/ flops about its the bearing in the gear box
