I have the same problem periodically. Sounds like one of the blend doors is stuck or not working. Try and pinpoint the door by playing with the controls. May need to purchase a actuator, the part that powers the door to open and close,
Usually when one side is hot and the other is cold, and each side is controlled separately, the problem is a blend door not working. The blend doors are usually controlled by small electric motors. You might research "blend door" online and see if anything pops up.
Air conditioner system is
discharged. Have the system evacuated, charged and leak tested by an
MVAC certified technician, utilizing approved recovery/recycling
equipment. Repair as necessary.
Air conditioner compressor clutch
not engaging. Check compressor clutch wiring, electrical connections
and compressor clutch, and repair or replace as necessary.
2004 Suburban air conditioner blows hot air to the dirver side but cold air to the passenger. This does not happen all the time but has occurred several times this last summer.
Check coolant level. Check for heat at the heater hose going from water pump to heater core at firewall. Check to see that cable is moving coolant control valve from the closed to open position. Low mileage so it shouldn't be plugged heater core.
you need to change drivers side temp door actuator then disconnect battery for 5 seconds and reconnect after changing the part, turn key on for 60 seconds with touching heater control to allow actuator to program and then it will work.
need to go to dealer to have HVAC module reprogramed. whenever diconnecting battery power on these vehicles you can connect a 9 volt battery between neg and pos to keep the memory in the computers. I am an master ase technician and 5 classes from gm world class tech.
