MAKE SURE WIPER FLUID RESERVOIR NOT EMPTY. CHECK TO SEE IF REAR WIPER WASHER WORKS IF NOT CHECK THE 15 AMP FUSE IT CONTROLS BOTH FRONT AND REAR WASHER MOTOR. IF ALL LOOKS GOOD.CHECK TO SEE IF POWER GOING TO WASHER MOTOR.IF YES THE WASHER MOTOR NOZZLE JETS PLUGGED.TRY CLEANING THEM WITH TINY NEEDLE.IF JETS OKAY.WASHER MOTOR SUPPLY LINE NOT DISCONNECTED OR BROKEN.WASHER MOTOR FAULTY. IF NO POWER GOING TO WASHER MOTOR BUT POWER AT THE SWITCH.SWITCH MORE LIKELY THE PROBLEM.NO POWER TO SWITCH COULD BE BLOWED FUSE.OR BROKEN WIRE FROM FUSE BOX TO WIPER SWITCH.
Check that hoses have not come off or are being pinched when closing your hood
if living in below freezing temp. make sure using all season fluid, check for clog via sediment also in hose or in the outlet/port itself.
SOURCE: WATER FOR FRONT WIND SHIELD NOT WORKING
if the water pump is not maknig any noise then it is likely to be either jammed with sediment, rusted, burnt out or simply a connection problem
this pumps are not usually bolted in, they are a usually a push fit
i would remove the plastic tube, connecting wires and remove the pump
check it, clean it out and lubricate it with WD40 or similar
wait awhile for the WD40 to penatrate
then test it by using 2 pieces of wire and connecting straight to the car battery terminals
if it works like this then
check and clean the pump connector terminals - if you have a multimeter check for 12 volts (have someone operate the screen wash stalk, if you dont have a multimeter you could use 2 wires and a car bulb (stop lamp, sidelight or indicator bulb)
failing this just reconnect the pump if it works - great
if not the the problem is electrical
SOURCE: 1999 vw beetle. blinkers, wind shield wipers not working.
check the electrical part of your ignition switch . this is common to burn out and is easy and inexpensive to fix .does not require anything to be done to the mechanical part of the switch and key.
SOURCE: cannot get the wind shield wiper motor back in the
this is normally caused by a bad wiper motor or binding of the wiper gears and linkage arms.
check to see if the linkage arms are tight and not loose. also try and lube up the pivot points.
another thing to check is to make sure you have 12 volts to the heater.
