Installing a oil pan heating pad in my Subaru Legacy

Subaru Legacy. No year told nor what engine is there

nor VIN 8th digit USA is engine code and not told
parts for cars are based on those facts.

my guess, winter engine block heaters of many types even those sold by maker Suburu

what heater models work best or fit.

some pans are aluminum and magnets useless.(mag heaters generic sold in all autostores on earth
google that.
or how to do it.
or is this a parts buy question.
why not buy it from OEM dealer
personally I only like the heater water tube LOOP hose kind
has heater and pump and 2 hose and and AC plug
that fits to a heater core hose/ pipe (one of them)
nothing works better.
for sure if at -30F. top of engine freezes first.! oops.
have shop put it in, tell them which kind
there 3 kinds, above pump kind(always works)
core plugs (horrible if it leaks, engine wrecked)
pan magnet heater.safe if works/fits some don't.

some engines, none told have brass screw port for the OEM heat, now this works and will not leak as it screws in and 100% secure, but seen on only current engines 10 years or so. but no year told
the new engines have no core plugs in the blocks
so makers added the cute brass dummyy plug for oem heater option./?
the oem Subaru site will tell you what is sold for options/
if car is not too old ,but no year told so no examples possible, guessing all years

What other chevy ingine with trany fits a 2002 tahoe and whats the newer year I could fit

There are a lot of newer model engines and tranny combos that will fit like the 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 and 6.2 liter engines with the 4L60E,4L70E and 4L80E transmission packages just be aware that the larger the engine the more the cost

one is input other is out put.
one goes to the thermostat housing, no its not there. like most cars. not on PUMP (coolant)
the other hose (huge) goes to a fitting on the engine block.

I need to see how to replace my water pump on my 2001 dodge durango 5.9l v-8 engine

Hello'
You need a large adj or a whench that fits tight on the clutch fan nut remember the nut is reverse threaded, I'm sure they make a proper half moon wrench with 2 pins to fit into the holes in the pully, however you can put 2 bolts in the holes and using a long bar to keep the pully from turning. you have to hit the wrench pretty hard with a hammer to get the clutch loose so make sure your bar doesn't bounce or it can damage your pully. once the clutch is off remove your belt and the pully and your at the WP. you don't have to hit the clutch as hard when you put it back as engine torque will tighten it more . I hope this helps.
Thanks

Water pump

Hello drain the water from the radiator by removing the hose from the radiator to the water pump, after having taken out the hoses, then unscrew the bolts that hold the water pump. After having taken the pump, clean the surface where the pump is fitted on the engine. Now when putting, the new pump, put a clear layer of silicone gasket on the surface where the pump will fit to prevent leakage, now you screw the bolt to the same torque, then after put the hose back like it was before, fill your radiator ,do not put the cap now, because of an air lock in the water circuit, start the engine, you will see the water level lower, fill it to its level, then put the radiator cap.Hope that help you in changing the pump, good luck

I have bought an engine for my fiat punto 53 plate punto from a salvage yard. I was told the engine was from a punto same year as mine. will this engine fit or is there different models?

hi, the engine you have brought should fit as most of them will fit even if the cc is different so i wouldnt worry to much about it.

The only thing you would have a problem with is if your engine is petrol and they send you a diesel engine.

As long as its the same fuel it wont matter to much if its a bigger cc engine then it will have more power and less if the engine was smaller but they will all fit into your car so i wouldnt worry to much. Even if the engine was out of a car 2 years older than yours or 2 or 3 years newer as they are all the same.

Just make sure you get some sort of warranty because you are buying from a scrap yard they havnt been driving the car around its just come into the scrap yard and they take it that the engine is fine so once fitted check for any noises or oil leaks etc.

You will also need to put your gearbox off your engine onto the new engine as the new one is from a scrap yard it might have the clutch and pressure plate still attatched to teh new engine as this is not a part inside the gearbox but attatched to the engine so if your car had no problems with the clutch then make sure you change this over from your engine onto the new engine.

Also make sure you give the new engine a full service change oil and filter etc.

Also worth doing is once the car is running buy a fuel cleaner that you put into the fuel tank this will then run through the fuel system cleaning all the injectors as the chances are the car has been sitting for a while and may have got bunged up slightly.
Make sure you buy the correct fuel cleaner that goes into the tank ie petrol or diesel ok.

Let me know if you need further assistance ok.
