My 2004 mercury monteray is experiencing jerking while driving up inclines. I changed the fule filter and it was real dirty when i took it off and replaced with a new one, it went away for about 3 weeks when the trans went out, had the trans rebuilt and the jerking has came back. What do you think the problem is ?

You know, I'm having a very similar problem and planning on cleaning the egr valve and soon finishing the tune-up. I've already replaced the MAF sensor. I wonder if this has to do with the recall on the transmission power converter. Dealership not being very helpful.

Spark Plugs--change every 3 years, not over 70,000 miles
Bad EGR Valve
Ignition Misfires
Worn out O2 Sensors---- change front 2 at 100,000 miles
Clean MAF Sensor-----clean- once or twice a year

Your trans failed, because the fluid has to be
changed every 3 years,30,000 miles ,power
steering also 3 years

My Nissan Sylphy Bluebird experienced loos of power on incline roads, and car the jerks when the gas paddle is pressed. even after I change the spark plugs.

Here are some potential causes and solutions for the loss of power when accelerating and going uphill in your Nissan Sylphy Bluebird:
  • Replace the air filter if it's clogged with dirt. This allows more air into the engine for better combustion.
  • The fuel pump may be failing, not providing enough fuel pressure. You'll need to test the pump pressure and replace it if necessary.
  • Replace the fuel filter if it's restricted, allowing full fuel flow to the engine.
  • Faulty spark plugs, bad ignition coil or faulty crank/cam sensors can cause misfiring and power loss. Check for error codes and inspect these components.
  • A clogged catalytic converter or muffler can restrict exhaust flow, impairing engine performance. Inspect the exhaust system.
  • Problems like worn clutches or torque converter failure can affect power delivery. Have the transmission inspected and serviced if needed.
The jerking when pressing the gas pedal could indicate an issue with the throttle body, dirty fuel injectors or transmission problems like worn mountings. I'd suggest having a mechanic inspect the engine and transmission completely to properly diagnose and resolve these driveability issues.

When i put it in drive it jerks real hard

Inspect first the automatic transmission fluid. It may need replacing as well as the filer. Observe the jerking if it occurs on certain speed, it may just be an issue within a specific gear. Its valve may be dirty and need cleaning. This may also be cause by bad fuel lines or dirty fuel filter which causes inconsistent flow of fuel. Check also the engine support and mounts of the engine and transmission. They may be worn out. The jerking could be from the actual **** of the engine because it is not held in place correctly.

I have an 04 hyundai elantra and it jerks when i drive, i took it to the shop and no codes came up and no check engine light came up. My car needs a fuel pump could this be why the car jerking? And when...

I would check the transmission fluid. It may need changed and the filter changed. Perhaps you are not getting a good spark from your spark plugs or coils. Has it been awhile since you had a tune up?

After i filled my 2004 hyundai xg350 last nite and parked for half hour then drove hime ,it stalled ,but rstrated right away, but kind of jerked a little bit, when applying gas. after that i drove home...

Hello,
Absolutely, a dirty fuel filter could cause that. You may also check your air filter, a dirty air filter can cause a bad fuel/air mix ratio, which can have similar results to a dirty fuel filter.

I hope this helps you.

My 2000 buick le sabre jerks and loses power while accelerating.

first scan for any codes if it comes up po 300 just a guess it could be random misfire puts the car in limp mode . the igniton modual underneath the coil pacs the coils sit on could be redy to go or if not that check fule pressure by puting fule pressure guage on shrader valve located on fuel rail on top of injector assembly and check fule pressure with fule pressure guage. car of key on pump reading should be around 48-55 key on car on reading should be around 55.minus -3 to 10psi = reading of 38 to45 only if the fule regulator has vacume line atached to it on fule rail dubble check psi reqirments in car manual for co mpleat accuracy. If it doeint have vacume line pressure stays constant 48- 55psi

Trouble getting fuel to climb in incline or hill.

Has the Maf sensor been chk'd? It controls the fuel. If the engine doesn't run proper, the transmission will act up. The maf sensor is located as the first sensor coming out of the air clraner. Inexpensive, easy replace fix. Good luck

While driving car jerks real bad...will run smooth then start jerking

these are the things you need to check: spark plugs, plug wires, fuel filter and pump.
