What does a twisted wrench signal mean in the mileage display area on a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg Edition? This problem shows up every time I start the ignition. It flashes a few times and then goes away. The only thing I have tried to fix it is look in the owner's manual. I am really not sure what it is.

It means they want you to have the engine serviced. Typically it means that there is an engine diagnostic code waiting to be read. You can borrow, rent or buy a code scanner at most auto parts retailers, it depends on the retailer, but Auto Zone often lets you borrow them.
These typically come on when the engine is started while the computer is looking for codes, if the light goes out shortly after starting and stays off while driving, this is normal.. When you turn your Key to On, All Warning on the dash Come On. Some go Off as Soon as the Engine Starts, Some take 8 to 15 Seconds after the Engine Starts to go Off. This is a System Check the ECM & ECU go through Everytime you start the Engine. This also means your oil needs changed on some models and if you change your oil you will need to reset this. that should be covered in the manual, but to clear it try, Start by depressing the trip reset button on the right side of the instrument cluster, then with your other hand turn the ignition on but not running. The wrench should come up and flash , now reset it by releasing the trip button and pressing the min. button on the left side of the instrument cluster. Cylce the key one more time afterward and verify that the event is reset.

Did this clear the alarm? If so I would appreciate a vote of confidence and I am glad I could help.

Hello, I have a wolfsburg 2007, on your car's cd player you need to press twice the cd option till you see Auxiliar on the display. Once you have aux, play your ipod, mp3, etc.

What is the oil change interval for 2007 Volkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg edition? Looked in Manual but it says to see the maintenance booklet which I do not have. Thanks!

Use synthetic quality engine oil and factory filter and change oil every 12.000 miles.

A 5W30 will work well.

For more oil information check the site of 'The Oil Guy.'

I have a 2007 Jetta Wolfsburg....when I start my car a flashing wrench display where my mileage comes on?? why??

With the key in the ignition (but not turned), press and hold the Odometer Reset Button (0.0) on the right hand side of the panel. While still holding that button, turn the key (although not far enough to start the engine) and then press and hold the Minute button on the left side of the instrument panel. Release both buttons at the same time. Try to reset the light as close to the actual service time as possible, because you don't want to risk any problems or confusion. I hope this helps.
