My 1996 Olds Aurora Has the abs & traction control lights on on the dash. When we run a check via the computer we do no get any reading on the cause. I'm thinking it may be a blown fuse but it's not in the regular fuse box just to the left of the drivers knee. Where would any other abs fuses be? I'm still looking but don't have a manual on this vehicle or a wiring diagram. Any help would be appreciated. S. Clark

SOURCE: 2001 olds ABS and traction control sensor issue

An ABS sensor DOES affect the traction control system. Traction control uses these sensors to determine if a wheel is losing traction. A bad sensor will cause both the ABS and TRACTION lights to come on.
The CHECK ENGINE light however is going to be a seperate problem.

SOURCE: 2001 Aurora - blows only 'warm' air

Your problem is either a clogged heater core, or the air temp control blend door actuator, in order to check for a clogged core feel the heater core hoses in the eng compartment, they should both be hot, one a little hotter than the other, if they are the core is ok and the blend door actuator needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: 2002 Olds Aurora. All interior lights are out. Found blown fuse.

Your Interior lights share a fuse with alot of other circuits and if I remember correctly the switches are built into the door latches. On some of the models the cigerette lighter is on the same circuit and if your element is bad it can short out, also you could check wiring between doors and body to see if any rubbed thru.

SOURCE: my 2002 aurora abs light break light and traction

This could be a number of things from wheel hub sensors to brake controller. Since you say the Brake Light is on as well, this is likely the ABS controller module - a common failure. I had the same thing, took it off, mailed it in for repair ($150.00) and had it back in a week. It takes about 20 minutes to remove the part.

Before you do anything, get or have the ABS codes scanned. If you have code C1214 (maybe others) this is the issue.

ABS/Traction and Turn Signal issue.

bad wheel speed sensor or wiring to it open or shorted. just fixed same ABS & Traction Control problem on my 2001 Chevy. No matter make or model the systems are pretty much the same.

ABS and TC work together, a problem with either one of these will set both lights.

If you can get a ACTRON Code reader 9185 it will read Gobal and ABS codes. Don't know if your local auto parts store will be able to read ABS codes for you. I repaired mine for $140.00 no more problems - take it to a dealer and you will be looking at $800.00 plus.

good luck

1996 olds aurora running light control module and headlight control module are they one in the same or two differant parts

Hello! One in the same...It is called the Lamp Control Module (LCM)... The (LCM ) is located under the dash on the drivers side next to the emergency brake . There are two modules on a plastic bracket. The LCM is on the right. On a 96 Aurora the part number is LCM 25638307...The module on the left is the Malfunction Alarm Lighting and Locking (MALL) module... The MALL is also called the Body Control Module (BCM)...Which controls the Interior Lights and Door locks...Here is a photo of the two modules with the lower dash removed...Note labels; BCM on the left and LCM on the right...Guru...Saailer

I'm just guessing: You may have a bad ABS Sensor. since you mentioned TRACTION Control. Traction Control controls the vehicle while it is in motion but a faulty or failing ABS Sensor could interfere with your traction Sensorbe the cause of your worries. Hope its a good guess!

Ok bought a used 01 olds aurora and i see a traction control light on dash but there is no tc button on console and the light doesn't come on when i crank up. The manual says it should. Did they all come...

i believe the button is located near shifter.

yes all auroras are fairly loaded vehicles that come with 4 wheel abs standard with traction control.

bulb check with key on should illuminate all bulbs.

high speed vibration likely caused by your tires/ tire wear could be cause by alignment -have it checked. while checking alignment they will check steering and suspension compononts and rec any repairs needed.
idle vibration may be normal depending how severe due to age of engine mounts.

my experience with auroras is that they are very high tech high optioned which leads to a chance of falure more often due to more systems. however my opinion is they are VERY nice rides and i think you will enjoy it. keep in mind vehicle is 9 yrs old and expect some expense

you probably push air into the ABS unit when getting your lines replace but the Traction Control light might be on because the system might use the wheel speed sensor on the ABS unit to enable the Traction Control.......
