Try and test to see if you have spark and fuel, when it won't start. Is the check engine light lit up on the dash, when it won't start, as you try starting it? If no check engine light, then the jeep ecu is in need of repair. If the check engine light is on but it still won't start, then it's another problem causing your no start.

Sounds like you are having a problem with the starting motor. When activated, it throws out a gear to engage with the flywheel on the end of the engine. If there is not enough energy to fully engage the gear, or the gear does not engage properly due to misalignment, you may hear a grinding noise. Have the starting motor serviced or replaced.

sounds like it was not wired properly-try running a wire from the positive side of the battery to the positive side of the coil, see if it runs-if so, you need to look at how the ignition switch was hooked up.

Last week, my 1998 Lexus ES300 wouldn't start (clicking sound) and I thought it was the battery. I jump started it but noticed that it still made the clicking sound, for my first couple of tries, it did...

If car wont start and clicking sound is heard this is a battery related or starter related, if your car battery is in good condition (which I think it was) then the problem is your starter, have it check to confirm.

F150 ignition (won't Start)

If it turns over but just won't fire and the timing sounds fine when it does run you might consider your ignition switch.  Does it sound like it wants to fire but only just when you let go of the key?
